Which ones have you heard? From the videos on the internet it seems as if the Eisenmann Race is the best sounding. Gains in power must be the same ballpark for all of them, since there is not much to be gained with just a catback.

Right now I'm decatted, x pipe and B&B TriFlo, which is intended for the US Spec M3, which has smaller diameter pipes. I had the guy from the exhaust shop modify it so the inlet pipes are the original euro ones, in 2.5" I believe. I am not entirely convinced with this decision, so I might consider changing. The sound is great, by the way, and the car pulls as strong as before, benchmarked against racing a couple of friends' cars.

I would be interested in a Supersprint street version if some one is selling one as well. PM me if you have one.

They are discontinued John, however if you buy a new US spec one and cut it off about 6" past the flanges and reweld proper diameter tubing in its place, that will be identical to a Euro spec muffler.

I thought the euro exhaust was 2.5" as compared to the US 2.25". Would the 2.25" tubing continue into the muffler or is it the same box?

Nope. The SS pipes flare out .25 about 6" after the flanges! Literally identcal to the Euro version - they just tapered the tubing to mate to the US cats. Would be a good opportunity to have a custom midpipe cat/resonator made to fit between the headers and muffler..

What do you know about Racing Dynamics cat back exhaust? There is a distibuter here in Canada that says the Racing Dynamics exhaust is made by Supersprint but has 80mm tips. He can get their Euro M3 cat back for under $800.

I do not want any more interior noise than my car currently has. It is my daily driver/business car. Do you think there is an exhaust out their that is quiet enough for me? I notice on the UK E36 forum most guys say that Supersprint is too quiet.

They scream *on the outside* for the reasons listed in the link (thicker walled material) but in the cabin they are the most "user-friendly" exhaust out there. I had one on my car and did many long road trips without even the slightest headache. The ONLY reason I don't have a Supersprint on my car is because of the rarity of the GrpA system I have.

Also, 80mm tips are WAY too big for an E36 valence imo.
