Well I've being a season pass holder at Road America for years now, and have always loved any/all racing events that go on up at RA. I've been following the Champ Car - IRL merge since it was brought up, and when it was finalized I thought it was great....until I learned that Champ Car wasn't going to be coming at all! :( So I called up RA and asked what their plans were and at the time they said that they couldn't release any info. But they called me back and let me know that the Speed World Challenge is going to be taking place of Champ Car on the weekend of Aug. 7-10!!! :alright As much as I love open wheel racing, I gotta say that the Speed World Challenge is definitely one of my favorite racing series to watch. So I was without a doubt fackin pumped to hear that news.

Yes sir!! Another reason why I am so jacked about them coming....I don't think I've ever seen them live before.

To tell ya the truth, I don't think they've EVER been there. I may be wrong (I don't think so), but for as long as I've been going there I can't remember them being there once.

But they definitely weren't there in '06 for sure.

They ran in 06 during Generac for sure and I think maybe 05 also.

LOL....my bad, I was thinkin '07 for some reason. I guess I gotta cut down on some of my extracurricular activities.....my memories apparently well faded. Either way, it should be a good weekend non the less, and I can't wait!

I know it consists of Formula BMW, a mazada series, alms and the
speed series.
Are the Thursday and Friday (7th & 8th) practice sessions?
Just trying to judge when to get there/take pto.

Looking at the brochure that they sent me (which has more info in it than their site does :confused), you have them all listed except for the Skip Barber Nationals. And you are correct in that Wednesday, Thrusday, Friday will be practice/qualifying days...and then Saturday and Sunday are the race days. IMO it really wouldn't worth it for a non-season pass holder to go on those days because there really isn't any structual racing going on. Cars just go out randomly for their specific practice sessions and what not. I only go up those days if I don't have to work, and if its a big weekend and I'm feining for some race action. :devillook If I were you, I would stick to Sat. & Sun. as those will be the best days hands down.

And as far as Bimmerworld being there....if they run in Speed World Challenge (which they do) they will be there. I mean who in their right mind would want to skip Road America weekend?? :nono It's one of the best tracks in all of the great US of A!!:alright
