Speedo works, but the odometer and trip counter does not. There's a small plastic gear that spins both the odo and trip counter, and if it is cracked, then it binds up against the trip counter gear, and jams up both counters. About the only fix is to replace this plastic gear. Does anyone know where to get this gear ? Or do you think JB weld will work? tried crazy glue between the crack, but didn't work. JB Weld ? Real tough to get it that stuff inbetween a hairline crack.

If no one here has one for you, you could go here and get one. http://www.odometergears.com/subpages/bmw.html
http://www.odometergears.com/subpages/cable.html
I am sure someone has one for you here, I got an extra one here from a member.

+1 on odometer gears .com, I would recommend a new one over a used one though all day long. They often imes get old, brittle & dry & subject to cracking, especially after being pulled off of one shaft & replaced onto another. Also recommend using some graphite lube on the gears when you reassemble so that it all spins freely.

super glue may work. As long as gear is there and not fell apart and as long as nothing but gear gets glued together and to the shaft.
BTDT, most of the times worked great. (only once did not)

You would be better off to get a new gog. Mine has a crack at the collar of the cog but not all the way to the teeth of the cog. I took 15lb fishing line and tied a knot that would draw up tight and put it around the collar on both sides, then snipped it off next to the knot with nail clippers. Just like tying on a fishing lure. It is working so far until I can get another from a donar speedo or new one.

I shot an email off the speedo.com, will have to wait for reply.
The fishing line idea sounds promising. If I don't hear back from speedo, I'll just do that.
