Since apparently most dealerships are NOT selling the Z4's well at all, I have heard they are almost giving the cars away. What is a reasonable price to pay below sticker or above/under invoice? I have heard even $12,000 under MSRP?? Advice appreciated!

I bought a 2007 Z4 M Roadster with 25 miles on it last week. The breakdown goes like this: $59 something grand MSRP, $54 something dealer invoice, and I paid $49 something with nothing down. Hope this helps!

i paid close to 13 under on mine =P

it really depends on which model you get. for 07s, getting 10k under msrp was not unheard of. on an 08, it'll be more difficult.

14k under msrp on an 07, but this was in dec

(Edit: this was for an M Coupe)

could've gotten the same deal. back then wanted the better deal off a si but there are times i just splurged a bit more and got the m-coupe like you!

The dealer does not have any 07's just 08's.....do you think this matters considering if it just sits on their lot, it is wasting money anyways for them?

I typed this great response, added a smiley, and lost everything. Whatever! The strategy I used was to pit 3 dealers against each other. While the other posts here saved a lot more than I did, I suspect it was because they didn't buy an ///M. The dealer that wanted my business actually gave me a great deal and I bought the car from them. One of the 3 dealers wasn't interested in dealing at all... they still have their car sitting in their lot! Ooops, just noticed that hotdogwater beat my deal by 4 grand; maybe cause it's a coupe, maybe cause he's dealt better than I did. :)

The stealership I go to has an Alpine/Tan LOADED 3.0 si Roadster on "Special" for $41,980....they are claiming it "was" $51,400 and obviously it has been sitting there or it would not be on special now, KWIM?

Wonder how much lower they will be willing to go......thoughts?

Actually there were slightly better deals on M's than the SI's at the end of '07. I heard of several folks getting $14-15K off MSRP on M's (with the best deal discussed on the forums being Epbrown's with something like $17K off MSRP on his M coupe - though he had to drive 800 miles to get it). Most of the SI's seemed to get $12-14K off.

I would imagine that with the '08s being fresher on the lots (and the '08 incentive being $3500 vs. $7500 for the '07s) that the deals on '08s won't be quite as good for a while yet.

Is there a $7500 deal NOW for the '07's? I have my eye on an '07 si that's about $9K off msrp as an Internet special, but I can get an i ordered for almost the same price so that deal makes no sense. Now, for $15K off I'd reconsider, and knowing about a $7500 incentive would be VERY helpful....

The most they will do is $10,000 under MSRP on the loaded 08 si......good deal or better to be had out there??

That sounds like a great deal to me....care to share the details? This is a brand-new '08? Ordered or on lot? Any surprises with fees, rates, low trade?

Yes, brand new 08 on the lot. I went to test drive it today and the GM was livid because apparently the "internet price" that was on this particular white 3.0 si was a massive mistake! It was supposed to be listed at around $49,000 NOT $41,000. But my friend that works there said he told the GM that they had to honor the price. So, they will honor it until the end of today. The only thing I am very uncertain about is the tan interior because it gets beat up so quickly and I am a neat freak about stuff. They have the exact same Z4 on the lot in Space Grey/Black Int. BUT only at around $500 over invoice with the $3000 dealer cash back. I don't know if this is too good to pass up or I should just cough up the extra dough for the Grey/Black combo.

Personally, I would grab the one for $41k but watch the final deal for sneaky fees, and if you are trading make sure you get a fair deal there. Also check the invoice price on both on Edmunds.com to be sure you know what it is.

$500 over invoice with $3K back is also a much better deal than I've seen here, and I've been shopping like crazy!

Bottom line--how much price diff between the two?

Nope, no sneaky fees and I am screwed on my trade wherever I take it. I can't sell it privately, I have it on lease trader...I have been trying for months to sell it (2006 330i Sports, Premium, loaded) and have had NO luck and I am already at 34,000 miles on it on a 36,000 lease mileage allotment AND I have it until August of 09 so basically I am hosed.

The price diff between the two Z4's was about $6000 and some change.

As long as you are certain of the invoice price, options etc and you know exactly what you are getting, I'd grab it. Leather cleaner works wonders, and you can always have it detailed! that is, unless you have small kids or animals in the car.

You could always try offering $41.5k for the other car you like if it is identical other than color....but be prepared to grab the first one if they don't do it.
