Anything in hospitality/tips if you aren't making about 100$ a night sucks. Try waiting tables I've just about always gone home with at least $150 a night and around $250 weekends.

Waiters often if not most of the time make much more than waitresses being that they show little or no emotion. Out of all honesty.

If waiters and delivery people make so much money why do they all (most) drive shit cars and live in apartments?

because at the end of the night they go to the bar!

after many years in the food service industry I can say that A. you can make $50k a year but B. you aren't doing it for the money, it is the lifestyle.

If you are a waiter/bartender etc it means you are a 12pm - 2am person often times going into work at 3pm and leaving 11pm-2am. If you make $200 and leave at 11pm it means you have 3 hours in MA or 1.5 hours in NH to go to the bar with the rest of the staff from your restaurant/bar that gets out at that time.

It is a GREAT college job or a GREAT lifestyle job if you never want to face the real world and don't have much debt.

Don't get me wrong there are people that make a career out of it and support their families and such, but often both parents work etc etc.

Only a very few people make spectacular livings off of it.

For srs. I assume where it's delivery, it's all under the table too.......that's sick.

I used to wait tables, for quite a few years, and it was excellent money....

...but it all depends on the type of client, and type of establishment you're working in.

Chinese food is the way to go. most people will order about 50 bucks worth at a time and then tip around 10-15% plus the delivery fee. Pizzas isnt as good. who orders 50 bucks worth of pizza besides at the special occasion fund raiser?

I'm a waitress I've been driving a bmw since I was 18, that I bought. The apartments I've lived in have been nice I don't see why I would need to buy a house when I'm not even 25 yet. All of my friends in hospitality, enjoy having fun, going on vacation, partying and having a few nice things and pay for college, instead of trying to pay off mortgage for a house.

So they can prefer to have other nice things instead of cars and houses like trips to Islands and an education and what not. Just my two cents.

Not everyone makes banks in hospitality you just gotta know how to hustle and you very very easily can:)
