sup guys,

I'm new to the thread and I need some help with my car. It's a 98 528I 5spd and the headgasket blew last year. Hairline crack in cylinder # 3. Got it replaced with a 98 M3 cylinder head and cams. It ran nice and smooth for a while until the cam timing chain tensioner went bad and started knocking a bit. Then the CEL went on I got the codes, CA, E3, and C8 using the peaktool. Those codes were for the pre-cat o2 sensor for cylinders 1-3 so I replaced that, cleared the code and now it's giving me the codes CA and E3. Any idea what's wrong? I need help fixing this prob before it gets worst...

All help is appreciated!

Please take the time to be a bit more specific.
Car mileage regardless of the replaced cylinder head and cams.
I don't have my Peak tool manual with me (some people don't have them), so specific error code translation.
Is the engine exhibiting rough idle or any other issues?

CA - Oxygen sensor control limit, cylinder 1-3
C8 - Pre-cat oxygen sensor no activity, cylinder 1-3
E3 - Oxygen sensor adaption limit, cylinder 1-3

How does the car drive? Any changes in fuel consumption?
