So as of a few weeks ago my sunroof started making that horrible headthump noise of 10hz or so, I feel it more then hear it. If any of you have pulled down the air diffuser that pops up when you slide the sunroof back then you know the noise I'm talking about. Anyway, for some reason a few weeks ago I started to get that vibration between 30-40mph where it never did in the past. I think it may have started around the same time that I replaced my windshield "cover" which was virtually nonexistent before, I believe I seated properly so I don't see how that would cause the problem. Upon searching the forum I stumbled upon a thread where someone mentioned their sunroof not sliding back completely behind the headliner; mine has always protruded about 3 inches out in the few years that I've owned it, related? I pretty much only drive with it open so this is driving me nuts, thanks in advance for any help.

Cliffs: When sunroof is open headthump noise ensues between 30-40mph, ideas?

Maybe pop the sunroof out and inspect everything. Theres 6 torx bolts under the little rubber things that make it look pretty. Maybe you have a piece of junk in your track or something thats keeping the sunroof open.

Also have you tried holding the diffuser down while driving?

Thanks, so you're saying it only takes 6 torx bolts to get the whole sunroof to pop out? If so I should probably look into that to figure out why mine isn't sliding back all the way even though for the 4 years that I've owned it that's as far as it's gone back and I've never had problems until recently. As far as the diffuser, yeah, I pop it up and down all the time with my hand when it's making that noise and it always returns up to the normal position when I let go of it and continues to work at all the other speeds.
