I have this 3-spoke Steering wheel and airbag for sale. Check out the pics. It has some wear on the top of the wheel, but nothing too severe. It is more discoloration than wear. I bought this off of another forum member this past week under the guise of an E36 airbag. However, this has the Dual airbag, or whatever you call it. (I believe from the Z3 and/or e39.) Includes the Airbag. $300+shipping OBO. Please reply here and PM me to make sure I can answer as soon as possible with any questions.

It will fit the E36 and everything bolts up fine and the airbag fits, but the end connector is different so the air bag will not deploy. Well... actually I have been told it can work, but it would probably require some severe modification. It will also fit a newer model Z3, or E39 and the airbag will work on those models.

Where is the slip ring?

I don't know. If you find it, I will give you $20 for it.

The slip ring is integrated into the wheel. Check out the back more closely.

It cost a lot more than that my friend!

What kind of slip ring is that, an invisible one? Look closely for the 3 holes that's where the screws goes that holds the slip ring!

I was just throwing it out there.

What if you would have been like. "Oh, well it is in the background of your picture; dummy" And I would have had to give you $20 if it were there. But, it is not there.

Edit: Oh and just go to the junk yard and get one off a 96+ 3er wheel. If it has the emblem in the middle of the wheel, the slip ring will probably fit. That is what I did on my old car, and the junk yard charged me $15 for that, a bunch of fuses, and a seatbelt bolt cover thingamajiger.

I don't really feel like doing that. And that doesn't really sound safe.

Yea the difference is e36 needs a single stage air back the newer ones use dual stage. I don't know if you could turn a dual stage into a single stage by rewiring, it would seem unsafe, consider the fact that if it were to fail you could cost your life over a couple hundred dollar mistake.

So this prob wont directly bolt up to a 1992 3er (based on just what your selling)? Or will it? I'm dumb when it comes to wheels.

It would, but you need the slip ring. There was a great DIY I read about it...

It will fit. But, you would need a slip ring from the '98-98 M3 or from a '96-98 3er. Then, also need to figure out something about the airbag.

What makes you think it's dual stage?

Because I did a little research online and decided that it is a dual stage.

Anyone want this before it hits the trash?

I'm genuinely curious. I've seen nothing to prove that these wheels ever came in dual stage, just people guessing.

As far as I know, yes. You may need to look into seeing if your slip ring is correct. But, from what I saw on the internet. Your slip ring should be fine for it.

It is the E39 sport wheel. Or the Z3 sport wheel. I The actual wheel will work on the e36 just fine. It is just that as far as I know, the airbag will not work. And if it will I really don't want to mess with the wiring to make it work.
