Hello my name is leandro Alexis lugo from santo domingo D.R, and I have a problem with my m3 e46 SMG 2002 S54, the problem is that when I go fast my car (CUT) limited the rpm to 4000rpm I can continue in my car but only at 4000rpm maximum and I have to turn off the car and turned on again to remove the limit of 4000 rpm and the car do this frequently , my mechanic and I have tried many chances and we did not find a problem since in the computer analysis (GT1) does not give any type of error. I need help please.

If your car is cutting out at 4000rpm, it is in limp mode. You need to find out why it is in limp mode, it should have some sort of error code stored in the computer.

Mine did the same thing when MAF was bad.

I had experienced the problem before, I sent my car to the dealer to diagnos but they didnt see any problem. Someone told me not to let the car running on low fuel or almost empty tank so i did. so I practice that and so far the problem, disappear!! :confused anyway it seems to work haha.. happy days....
