Anyone has one of those on their cars ? (specially on 3.0s 5 speeds)
Hows the ride ? has your fuel consumption gone up ?
Whats the difference between the original 25% lockup and the 40% ? whats the benefit ?

morerevsm3 has one on his 5spd. not sure about the altered lockup.
im getting mine done (6spd thou) with 3.62 and gunna alter the ramp angle for increased lockup, and add some shims to increase the preload tension a little.
my understanding of this "lockup %" is limited, but what you dont want if u are circut racing is the diff to be locked up when under decleration. the higher % i guess the more 2wheel action happends under power, which is great for standing start acceleration and powering down out of corners.
Someone else please elaborate with more details please.

I'm thinking about a 3.64/2 on my car, just got to find out the top speed on a 5 speed.

top speed is rev limited (8000 rpm) on my car to 166mph (267 kph), fuel consumption has gone up, I do mostly highway driving at ~110kp/h (70mp/h)

I have an aggressive 3.64 diff. Can't remember the lockup, but I think 40/60. Aggressive diffs cause more understeer at corner entry and chassis setup has to be adjusted accordingly. The benefit is being able to put power down earlier on corner exit.
For street, I'd stick with stock lockup rates to retain the car's agility.

While I don't have a euro engine (yet), I did upgrade my stock 3.23 w/ 25% to a 3.64 w/ 40% and compared some before/after data using Traqmate data aquisition.

nice writeup.
im not expecting it to be a huge improvement over the std gears but with the extra revs of the euro engine it would be good to get to the happy zone quicker. On the track days i have done i havent had to use 5th as yet.
hope ill get to fit the lower gears soon, just sorcing all the bearings ect now

Alan, how does 1st and 2nd gear feel in traffic with the 3.64 ? is 1st gear still user friendly on a daily driver ?

yes, 1st gear is still fine, you can drive normally and all is well...or you can just start in 2nd and do this...

I broke in my diff in as per these instructions from diffsonline.com

It was frustrating holding back on the gas pedal for a month. Good Luck!
