Good Morning,

I had the second and last overtly, hostile, customer bashing session at H M Motorsports in Beaverton Oregon and want to pass along a friendly warning to my fellow BMW buddies.

I ordered tires from Tire Rack and had them shipped to H M Motorsports in Beaverton Oregon. I called and asked them when, at their convenience I could come in to have them installed. They gave me an appointment for lunch time on Friday. I arrived at 13:00 on Friday. I drove my car on their lot with four, OEM Contours, 17x8.5 on the car and a spare, 17x7.5 in the trunk.

Their blonde (need I say more) with the personality surgicaly removed would not listen to a word I said regarding tire mounting. She handed me the work order and I had to cross out half of what she entered and replace it with correct info. I had to beg her to have a four wheel alignment done, I had to beg her for metal valve stems. She just couldn't be bothered. Interestingly enough, she told me the car would be ready in one hour. Staring lovingly at her nails was oh so more important than anything a customer had to say!

I went to get lunch, and got a call from blondie. [read in valley girl speak] "..Oh my GOD! Your car won't be ready until four PM!..." Duh...

I went back at 4PM, my car was up on the rack, no tires on it, NOT a good sign. An hour later, they drove my car out. The front end looked very wierd. What was wierd you ask? The rims on the front of the car WERE NOT MY RIMS!!!!

G E T T H I S.....They had mounted my new front tires from Tire Rack on someone else's 17x7.5 rims, and my new rear tires on my 17x8.5 rims. When I pointed this out to them, they were in my face, "...hey buddy, you did not bring that car in here with four 17x8.5's..." my set of four 17x8.5 OEM Contours magicly turned into a staggered set of two 17x7.5's and two 17x8.5's. It took years to collect a set of 8.5's!

Worst of all, they actually mounted the new Tire Rack tires on the 7.5 inch rims, expecting me to drive the car away! The tires are safety rated on a minimum 8.5 inch rim. They mounted them on 7.5 inch rims and were not going to say a word. Safety be damned!

This is not settled, the "...manager..." swears he is correct and his staff would never do such a thing.

These guys are not car guys, they are liars and shoe makers, avoid them at all costs.

Anyways, thank you very much for letting this forum know, we should bump this thread every week so everyone and anyone knows, I absolutely despise shops like this, I hope they burn to the ground, with all responsible employees locked inside.

Dont give up man, no matter what, you need to get those wheels back, they probably thought you were some noob.

It makes me feel fortunate to have such a good rapport with the les schwab employees down the road. They always take good care of my car...I even told the drifter kid to go have some fun in my car after he got it all aligned for me.

But yeah, These guys are so lucky they didn't do this to someone like me.

I would call the police.

Was there another M3 in there that day?

Maybe someone came in with 7.5" nonstaggerd contours and they assumed that both cars had staggered setups?

H-M Motorsports is owned by Herzog-Meier. That being said, it's probably a good idea to avoid Herzog-Meier Volkswagen, Herzog-Meier Volvo and Herzog-Meier Mazda as well.... :nono

Bad service is one thing... example having your car be done three hours late is bad service.

having them STEAL your wheels is UNACCEPTABLE!

if it takes a lawyer to get your wheels back then get it done.

So you got your wheels back right?

+1 Seriously, did you get them back?

Def glad I have some good contacts here in PDX so I don't have to rely on shady, suspect shops like this. Also glad it wasn't me cause I would have gone A-Wall! Never mess with a man's car. :nono

I'd complain to BBB as soon as I could and/or if you didn't get your wheels back then file a small claims suit

Hmmm... that is pretty bad man...
I used them to tires on my M about a year ago (also got them
from TR), but didnt have that bad of an experience.

Seems like it took them a long time, but it wasnt that bad.
