View Full Version : Just lost the best deal ever
skratch 03-08-2008, 12:14 PM I was holding off looking at a local M3(1 day late)and the car sold the next day it was posted.
It was an 03 with everything minus smg 1 owner and 27k for 29998.I am so pissed I didnt call right when I saw the add.
I was so close to becoming an e46 M3 owner.
here is the add, tell if it was a good deal,it had cinimon leather,19s,the thing was nasty....

CryptoSquirrel 03-09-2008, 09:16 PM Yeah, it only took me three times of that happening for me to call as soon as i saw the add. More will come along, trust me. just check the adds every morning and if you see one, call them!
boostted3 03-09-2008, 09:42 PM Wow thats a really good price I wonder why so low.. I am actually selling my car now its CB/Cinn w/ smg but no nav and i want 31.
skratch 03-09-2008, 11:52 PM It sold for 28k lol,I was sooo pissed I missed out on it,the car had every option I wanted with low miles.

I might be interested, but I hate smg.I cannot afford to fix it down the line when the warenty is up.I need a reliable DD and I have heard to many stories of smgs needing to get towed for service.
How many miles?
They are starting to drop big time.I found a 04 with 11k for 34k,fully loaded also.I just hate the color combo and the smg tranny.
Modena NYC 03-10-2008, 12:28 PM its a low price because E46's are in freefall right now.
I don't trust those two bit dealers...you know they went to the auction and bought the car the day before for $1500 less...
Patrón 03-10-2008, 01:40 PM be patient, they gonna keep dropping like this over the next 4 months or so.
more will pop up, maybe even an '02 with lower miles.
jurrianT 03-10-2008, 01:56 PM Sorry that you lost that deal... Keep your head up, prices are falling like the previous posters mentioned... Keep your head up and look to the future my man... You're day will come!
skratch 03-10-2008, 02:06 PM I have been looking threw every corner of the internet for the last 3 months for a clean e46 lol,I saw this car and it was local to me also.Note for every one else looking, call them asap right when you see the car.If the car is a clean car and priced right every other guy in my same situation is going to jump on it also.
I thought 1 day would of been enough.this car sold the day it got posted haha.
I havnt found a better deal yet and Im still searching.I will find one just might take another month or two

Why did the deal fell threw? Car didn't pass inspection? Carfax issue? Its very hard to say a deal didn't work when they told you it was sold. I don't think dealership have Lay-a-way plan or dibs policy:) Must be something wrong with the car for the buyer to walk away..

Could easily be that financing fell through. Remember that most people have shit for credit, and that it's a lot harder to finance them these days.
Pull the history report, get a PPI and run with it if you like the car.
malter 03-15-2008, 01:13 AM hahaha bastard i know that car. i called about it too. crazy low miles, but it does have scuff marks on front bumper and rear bumper is not aligned properly. it is not 03.5 so no led lights and possible rod bearing recall.
potstar1 03-15-2008, 04:49 AM I lost out on a 1990 Black/Black M3...... for $1500......ouch............
greginno 03-15-2008, 12:18 PM I just got an email about this car and it looks like it's SOLD once again! Guess there was a lot of interest, eh?
phoenix77 03-16-2008, 09:34 AM I've seen a lot of the black/cinnamon M3s...just hard to find one w/ all options. If you don't want SMG there were a lot out there.
skratch 03-21-2008, 01:03 AM sorry guys for not following up.I went to drop a 2k deposit on it and saw the car was all banged up.Every panal had a dent, the car was keyed to shit, the front and rear bumbers were scuffed up and the kicker was Ifound the knife that the kid prolly used to key it before it got repod on the floor in the back.
I didnt even bother to test drive this car.The stupid sales guy said nothing about it being keyed and I wasted 2 hours driving down to look at it.
I have the full vin report from a bmw tech if some one wants to buy this car.It did have its clutch replaced not to long ago and the rod bearing recals were done.
kablammo 03-21-2008, 01:45 AM There a ton of e46 m3s on the market . . . . . stay patient and level headed . . . . the right deal will come your way.

PrematureApex 03-22-2008, 02:47 PM Good enough deal? :
02 36k miles, black on black, from a dealer...
They wanted $30k, after an hour and a half they were at $27,500.
So, 02, 36k, black on black, $27.5k
Good enough to sleep at night?

thats not bad,its just about getting the color combo and options you want.I really want a 03.5 (led tails)6spd,carbon/cin with nav and 19s.
I found another for 30k but with higher miles.
weaksauce 03-22-2008, 11:45 PM don't be scared of smg. i have almost 100k miles on mine and it works perfectly. remember you only hear aboutht ebad ones, not the good ones.
I still think I stole mine when i bought it.

My friend had 2 smg M3,I have seen him go threw hell with his cars,he then finally bought a 6spd.
I remember one time the thing freaked out and put it self in first gear and the car jumped the parking curb,I was right there in the car. That tranny/computer is just another problem waiting show up down the road.
My friends dad also has a e60 M5 and its been in the shop 5 times for smg related problems.
I know we hear about the bad ones, but I rather have a clutch either way.
