I have a 2002 325 ci ; I've noticed that whenever I press my brakes there is a clunking noise.Any sugestions

Spare tire or junk in the trunk sliding around? Is it whenever you tap the brakes, or slam on them?

Front control arm bushings is a common problem. I need to replace mine, they started doing it.

I had the same problem after I put on new brake pads, aftermarket pads, even good ones don't always have the proper size, if it's undersized then it will clunk when they move foward or backwards. I found mine out by wedging the side that was doing it, it stopped, It is one idea.
