I have Goodyear All Season F1's on my Mustang and I love them. Is there anything special I have to do to replace my Runflat Bridgestone's with Goodyear All Season F1's (Non Runflat)??

Can any tire shop take the runflat's off and put the Non runflat's on??

Yes any reputable shop should be able to install non run flats on your car. Just make sure the shop is up to date and can handle alloy wheels etc. properly. I just had mine done a couple of months age and the shop was very fussy and did not mark the rims etc. The Runflats are a little harder to remove than regular tires due to the stiff sidewalls. Make sure the shop has had experience doing this procedure. Just my 2 cents worth!

Since there is already a new tire related post I am just going to tag along on it. I am on day 10 of Z4 (03 2.5 sport on 225/17 Bridgestone Potenzas) ownership and I just cannot get used to ridiculous harsh ride. Yes I knew it was going to be a stiff setup and picked this up quickly when I test drove it, but trying to live with it and drive around rippled neighbourhood streets has got me thinking that sticking pins in my eyes would be a more comfortable proposition. I really want to like the car and use it more than just on sundays on smooth roads. Its not so much the stiffness of the setup but the way every crack and patch spot on the road is transmitted through the body in a thump-jolt-quiver that unsettles the chassis and makes it squirm a little. So I know runflats are probably the primary cause and I am certainly considering replacing them early (they are the originals still with 16,500miles) if I hear from realworld experience that there is a comfortable solution which doesnt turn the handling into marshmellow. The other issue is road rumble on the highway. Could this also be related to the particular tire or is it a known issue with these tires? I was on the phone with the top up driving down the interstate yesterday and my collegue literally asked me where the hell I was, it sounded like a thunderstorm! I then stopped at Walgreens to get some earplugs, and the ride was quite serene! Also, I have seen some new cars with a thin carpeting fixed to the inside of the wheel arches to damp sound and vibration, anyone tried this?

Please let me know what tires you have fitted and how it worked out or link me to other discussions on the topic. Come on sunshine, the top needs to go down....
