It was my 20th anniversary so Me and my wife loaded up the Z4 for a trip to Gatlinburg for a few days.
We drove across th "Foothills Parkway" to the "Tail of the Dragon" for a couple laps on the second day of our trip. Well about half way through our first lap I hear a crotch rocket coming up behind me. Well I see him in my mirror, you know the type, full leathers, knee guards, etc. I have been on the Dragon enough to know these idiots will pass in a blind curve on a double yellow, so I slow pull over and let him by.
Well he goes by lays it over into the next curve and is scraping his knee. For the next 1.5 miles I stay right with him driving about 8/10's. He pulls me only slightly (2 car lengths) on the longer straights, otherwise I stay right with him. I know he is trying because he keeps looking back and gets hard on the gas after every apex!
Well my wife finally screams to "slow down, you are going to run him over"!! I back it down and enjoy the rest of my lap at about 5/10's. We drove US 28, US 143, Cherahala Skyway and back across the "Foothills Parkway" then went back to Gatlinburg. The best part of the trip was when we got home and I figured out my gas mileage for the 1000 mile trip...32.6 mpg:buttrock
