Strange thing happened yesterday, while I was driving I got the Brake Lining error on the OBC. I checked and I was able to see that there is plenty of pad on the rear and fronts as I just had the brakes done over the summer. I also noticed that I had lost pressure on the brakes. I had to push the peddle all the way down to stop. any one have any suggestions?

brake bomb

brake bomb

Would that also cause the leaking of pentosine?

where is the leak? Is it between the brake booster and the master cylinder? If so, you need a brake booster rebuild, contact me offline at scs763@aol.com. If the booster is leaking, that could also cause the problem you are having, or like anything else on tha car, it could be a combination of a couple of failures.

Sounds like two problems. The Brake Linings MID error is simply the pad sensor - it has nothing to do with the brake bomb or any loss of pedal pressure. Mine was moaning when I had lots of pad left, turned out to be the sensor that was duff. Remove the sensor plug at the caliper and short the two female connections in the wiring harness side plug, hey presto problem solved! Fitting a new sensor is a piece of cake but you do need to remove the pads from the caliper. There are loads of posts about the brake bomb, but the test is simple. Hit the brakes and if there's a delay in power assistance (lots of pressure, but no braking!) the bomb has had it. When my bomb had gone, the red brake light flashed on the dash also. Loss of pressure sounds like main brake hydaulics (like air in the brake fluid) as opposed to power brakes/bomb issues, but I'll leave that to the experts.

Actually when I hit the brakes I have no pressure and have to push it all the way down to stop. Really strange as far as the leak goes I don't know where its coming from but I do see the leak on the floor by the driver side middle area. when the car sits for a while I get the groaning when I start the car up and when I turn the steering from side to side. Yet if I pump the brakes while the car is off about 20 times it becomes hard to push down after that until the car is turned on

low PENTOSIN is causing the "groaning" (Hydraulic pump is making that sound). Reach down with your hand where the brake booster and the master cylinder join together and see if you come back with PENTOSIN on your fingers - if you do, then it is the brake booster that is leaking (cause for low PENTOSIN level ??) It is all connected ...
