View Full Version : Dealer discounts on 650i's?

I am looking to lease a car, and I have been looking at the S5, M3, C63 and IS-F, but I decided to plug some numbers into the lease calculator to see if I could afford a 650i, and it looks like I can if I get a decent discount. I calculated that 9k off a fully loaded car (MSRP of 85,000) is within the price range I am looking to spend. So, what I am asking, is 9k realistic to get off MSRP on a on the lot 650i or there abouts? I am thinking it is because I have seen new M6s go for 11k under MSRP, and new M5s go for 13k under MSRP. And if I can get 9k off or close on a car in inventory, is there any way I could get 9k off an ordered 650i? If not, what is the average discount being given out for ordered 650i's and on the lot 650i's. Also, if anyone knows of a new 650i for sale at a great discount please PM me. I am pretty flexible about everything except the fact that it must be a manual.

Thanks!

Dude...

I have not heard such discounts for any average potential buyer...

The numbers you quote for the M6 and M5 are simply unbelievable unless they are problem BMWs and they are just tryin' to off load them on a customer.

Good luck but I really do not think you will find any dealer giving you a 9K discount on a 87K MSRP 650i. Fully equipped with all option is much higher than that you quoted. You might want to check your numbers.:D

I haven't seen these discounts up here either...I remember some dealers selling M5's at discounts here b/c they hadn't sold them...but that was about $5k max! Sometime a dealer gets stuck with a car they can't sell, so they will throw it on special...I once found in late 06 an 05 X3 2.5i stick, brand new...they couldn't sell it b/c it was stick! Asking was $33k...I said I would give them $25K...they said no way...I told them to just continue to hold on to the car then! :)

My father purchased his from a dealer for about 72-75grand. Fully loaded with everything possible. To be honest you really have to know the right dealer in this operation. Plus it helps to have bought two BMWs in 1 year (like my father did so they knew he was the real deal and a good customer.) It also did help that the original owner of it was a rich slob who changed his mind for another car (I don't know why, the 650i is a real value for the money.) He had only put 900miles on it and the dealer used it as their demo for a short time before my father bought it for a really cheap price. (I don't know, maybes hes just lucky.) In general you have to wait for the right time and just know what your doing in terms of finding the right car. Don't buy it brand new, it's not worth it.

The depreciated value is virtually the same exact car, just more broken in. BMW dealers do a great job detailing it back to perfection, and considering most BMW owners take great car of their car you shouldn't find any problems.

And why is that?

Well I don't mean its not completely worth it to have that nice new smelling car, but your getting the exact car thats already been broken in for 5-10 thousand dollars less. Unless you don't care about money, go ahead and buy it new :)

Yeah... Not really... The same car in theory but in principle your buying USED.

When you buy new: parts are new, etc... But when you buy CPO and there is nothing wrong with that, You are not getting the same car I bought brand new; no way no how.

And on the money topic: Money, American Green Backs, Cash is nothing my friend. You can't take it with you so you might as well spend it or give it to someone.

If you don't wanna "take it with you", and since you seem to have so much disrespect towards it in general, how about I find you a nice CPO and you give the difference to me? LOL

Dude, the only problem with buying an "almost new" CPO is that it has been titled before, so you won't be able to say that its a "one owner car" when you're selling it. Other than that, I doubt anyone goes around smelling and touching the brand new pistons on their brand new car. As matter of fact, I bet most people don't even open the hood until it gets at least some dirt in it. So, if you wanna save some dough, CPO is the only way to go, cuz you're sure as death and taxes aint gettin' 9 grand off a brand new car anytime soon... well, maybe when gas hits $6 per gallon in US... LOL

Your statements are flawed in many ways. ;)

Since you've come over to the WORLD of the 6er for the first time and you are more than welcome to. You must want to own one (Hopefully) or you are trying to make a point about money...;)

You are welcome to your opinions as I am... You are entitled to feel the way you do based on your response.

Good luck on your future purchase, NEW or USED (CPO).:D

Did you price a lease at the dealer? with the high residual value of the bmw the lease on a higher priced car may not be what you think it is.

I was at my local dealer for service yesterday and they had a sweet (new) 650i MSRP for $86K+ and was going for $76K+, so it IS possible.

I wasn't in the market, so I didn't look into it, but this is what they had it sitting on the showroom floor. Several others 750i, 650ic, were at similar discounts.

Sorry, it wasn't a manual though.

Good luck
