I am soon going to be ordering a 335i sdn with a sport package. I have read that some 335i models have high oil temp problems and go into limp mode. I have read some come with a oil cooler while others do not. What trim level has the cooler and does the cooler lower temps to normal levels? Is there an oil temp guage on the car? If the sport package does not have the cooler, how can I make sure it gets one before I pick it up? thanks

Just order the ZSP package and you'll be fine. There are no overheating problems except those that put it on a track, don't worry too much about it.

yeah i just recently had that experience. my car was running fine then it went into limp mode. i was like.. what the?! i mean it's a common error within the 335s but i wish i had researched up on it long before i got my car...but it's under warranty so no worries!

If you're getting the "i" just get the sport package and you'll have it.

I'm calling BS on this. It is not a common issue, the only report with proof was provided by the guys at Nissan testing the 335. Myself and others on here have stated and restated that we have early production cars and never had any issues. When this first came up in discussion I intentionally beat on my car whenever I had a 90 or 100 degree day and never went above 270. On any given day my car consistenyl runs no more than 250-260.

Also, there are many other reasons why you car can go into limp mode other than oil temp.
