Getting there! I figured I'd fill the E34 section in as I mostly hang out in the FI section but people from here have been asking about my car.

so what did you finally land on for engine management? I know you were considering the SM-4 but if you get one will you be using a multiplexer for sequential ign or sticking with wasted spark?

Im still trying to figure out how to setup a multiplexing CDI circuit for that thing but the learning curve is tough. Thank god for the SDSU EE profs.

If I do SM4, which I am 50/50 on simply because i played with the interface and its uh... interesting, I will be running a CDI HKS/MSD/AEM box wasted spark using a Nissan ignitor. For that reason I am sort of leaning toward an AEM box. I dunno, I have time to figure that out. I am on MS currently with only 440cc injectors to break the motor in on. So, I need to pick up my 1200cc-1600cc injectors and an ECU later.

Definitely. TheDogger, along with a few of the S50 swapped ones are pretty bad ass. JimmyZ2 also. A few of the older members whom I'm not sure if you remember Mac. I never here from Brian(thedogger) anymore and Jimmy is only on m5board.

Jon definitely has THE coolest/rarest mods though.

Not an uncommon mode for heavily modified small block V8's. By drilling a small hole through the shoulder of the connecting rod and big end bearing at the right angle oil is sprayed on the major thrust face of the cylinder wall below the biston. This will help keep the piston cooler under heavy loads particularly when using FI or NOS. There are other methods also like this.

Yes I know, and the M50 block has it from the factory

I remember hearing something about that. That sucks. I've had two members screw me recently on parts that I sold them under false premises that I would receive money from them down the line. Luckily it wasn't to much $$$.

He moved to some resort town in Idaho or CO. :dunno

Yes they have oil squirters from the factory. Theres no need to balance a piston after coating it, the coating is very very thin and has no change in clearance on the piston. However, my new pistons (forged) are not coated.

Yeah hes in Coat D'Arlene or something like that I have it saved at home - I actually called his house and they said he wasnt there. He owes me money still.

I didn't know that :dunno its not mentioned anywhere. I just know Alpina added them to the M30 for the bi turbo.

I was wondering if you were going to add it as an extra pimp modification.

Are they in all M50/52 base cars?

I'm curious, are they just mechanical permanently on or do they work in time with the stroke?

They spray constantly. They should be on all M50 based blocks yes.

Either way the FI board's going to be shitfest about it when you DO get numbers. "Haha you didn't make it!" or, "You dyno'd wrong." You'll never escape it.

Based on your history, I think you will not post numbers until you are satisifed with them. If unsatisfied you may never post them.

I am not being critical that's just my thoughts based on history.

You are not obligated to post anything IMHO.

Car will more than like be tuned up at ICS on 35 psi or so, C16, direct methanol, and direct nitrous (about 200 shot). I don't think I'll be unsatisfied - I think I will be down right terrified.

Well statistically, I have a larger motor than card counter, direct methanol and nitrous, so I should be able to hit his #'s and then some

My guess is, the first few runs will be unsatisfying (beta tuning), followed by many runs of punch me in the face awesome. You'll try not to post numbers, but it will leak eventually.

You're on the home stretch, just don't rush it. Like you need me telling you this :rolleyes

Hehe you need a ride in a 76mm turbo car - the first few runs will be anything but unsatisfying :)

I won't leak the numbers if the few who know what I did don't. There are details about my setup that are still unknown :buttrock
