Auraraptor 03-07-2008, 05:06 PM Well I am in a bit of a conundrum...I payed Jim a tad over $1000 to source me a CSi steering box, and it has been a while since I have had contact with him. I would like to know what I should do...namely press the issue for an ETA or just ask for a refund. Thoughts? Ps sorry for the spelling ceedee 03-07-2008, 05:44 PM i'd give him a couple of days. I'm part of the GregK experience, Have'nt gotten over it yet, I worded my reply wrong, Wasn't try to put you on the spot but anyone who doesn't hold up to there part of the deal, Deals normally go bad once money changes hands for some reason? Before the change there's no excuse or warning of what's about to take place, It's always yea, Yes, Ablsolutley and then there's a bunch of interuptions, Communication is key in such a event IMO! Too many bad experiences for me i guess, My apoligies. pumpedTSI 03-18-2008, 12:18 PM That's more than a second job, Sorry Jim! No Problem This is the second time i here about this greg k thing, Who that I think i know what you mean i have a few customers that never sent back cores and i did not charge a core, ordered crap i sourced and they never paid in the end, Got a few paper weights around. I got a bit frustrated yesterday. most of my bad boys are out side the community, It makes you have to take a hard stand, sometimes but i dont let it sour me. their are some rewards. When i was down with penumiona in December this guy calls as i am walking out the door on friday night begging me to ship a maas air sensor for an M73 for saturday delivery a few days before xmass. I caved in made my wife wait 2 hours while i made arangements to pack it up and get it out the door same day.Of course i got hell from the wife for not resting and not getting xmass stuf done Right about New Years the young man sent me a letter thanking me for getting it out He was able to Drive 400 miles to spend the holiday with his family. Its thing like that that keep me going .I am glad the effort made a great holiday for some family to be together. Thanks for the response God Bless jim Auraraptor 06-24-2008, 06:49 PM Anyone talk to Jim recently? I will have limited phone accessibility for 2 weeks so I wanted to get in touch with him, well, by today ideally. But haven't had any success. I have tried phone, text, email, and PM, all with no luck. If someone could forward this to him, it would be great: 4 things: 1. Any luck with a broken cluster? 2. Do you have some light gray headliner material? I'm looking for some for another custom project (retrofit a E39 dome light...its narrower so I need some 'filler' that I want covered in matching cloth) 3. Do you have the following (#22 in SILBERGRAU): http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=EF83&mospid=47332&btnr=51_1995&hg=51&fg=30 4. Still curious about the rear shade shelf. My mechanic is all ready to install it, just waiting on the parts Thanks again for the CSi rear. The CSi rear is coming along well. I am having a body shop rework it to be like this: http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1001001 I look forward to hearing from you, as I have a few interior projects I want to start now that the summer is here and I am "only" working full time. SSC 06-24-2008, 09:33 PM Can you tell a big difference with the Csi box? Koizumi 06-25-2008, 02:43 AM Jim, if you're reading this, please email me. I'm still waiting for you to send me my item since January. Hope all is well. Wuffer 06-25-2008, 02:05 PM You guys are far too patient - much like GregK's customers who paid money for a product and never received what they paid for. They also couldnt get responses to emails and phone calls. There are many others of us who can and will supply reasonably priced used parts in a timely fashion. While this doesnt get you your money back, at least you could get on with whatever fix/modification you are trying to complete. Still waiting since January?? You are a patient man David! 8-) Just my Loonies worth. Flame away if you choose.... carspainc.com 06-25-2008, 02:23 PM wuffer, i think you are right. there is no reason to not answer or return funds since there are things floating of his on ebay, i know he is still working. SSC 06-25-2008, 06:11 PM Myself or Wuffer and Bill will probably have or know where to get what you need. Between us we have apx 7+ parts cars. I have obviously been pretty busy with Steffen's restoration and have not really advertised or had the time to mess with the parts cars. If anyone needs anything get in touch with one of us. You will find that pricing is very standard and fair between us. Generally 35% of what Realoem shows, some rare items are higher. Many folks think this parts deal is like a retirement acct. Not quite, it's like working for $2.75 an hour besides sitting on the inventory. It goes along with the car, you have to have the passion for it. To effectively remove each item correctly without destroying it or something else in the process takes time. Time=money! One thing I would ask of everyone requesting parts- please take the time to look up the actual part# and request it that way. I have exchanged pictures at times to verify correct parts. Any time you can save us researching what you need would be appreciated. In other words-"the little plastic thingy next to the other thingy" is not going to get it! This part you are looking for is probably worth about $3-10. and if we have to go thru anything more than putting it in a box or envelope....well- you get the idea. In most cases we will refer you to Gault for these small items that you need new anyway. Sorry to rant some, just trying to coordinate a reliable path to parts for all. Any questions? i would defenetely advise getting parts from wuffer. many of his cars are j-spec. and shipping is very fast from canada. but i also would like to point out that the differential i got from greg was reasonably priced and still seems to work fine after 3 months. knock on wood :D Wuffer 06-25-2008, 10:20 PM Just to clarify, I dont ship from Canada unless you are in Canada. I ship from Blaine Wa 2X/week normally. If urgent and I can help I will make a special trip across the border to do so. ethanw 06-25-2008, 10:29 PM I am not going to comment on the pricing scheme for the used parts and all that.. Like SCC said you outta be able to recover you cost and make some profit as well. Nothing is free and is all business. But I would like to make a positive note about Wuffer where he did go to the extreme of shipping parts even for free and I am one example of that....So is not always about money but those guys have to be able to sustain their passion to help with a positive cash flow.... I don't use used parts but I guess this model works well for some folks... Some day I may get there myself... I bought one from Jim in NY awhile ago that was supposed to be the early style and it wasnt....... rockytt 06-26-2008, 02:09 AM get it from the parts counter at Crevier - pretty cheap actually... http://bimmer.roadfly.com/bmw/forums/partscounter/ Not to take business away from somebody, but it's less than $50 and you get a brand-new one that you can pick up yourself in a couple of days. When you say "early" style, what exactly to you mean - the piece hasn't changed (unless he shipped you one of the wood ones) - do you mean the two inserts on either side of the shifter? Those are available separately you know SSC 06-26-2008, 02:59 AM not sure what you're talking about "old style" but I would point you to Crevier or Gault for a part like that. Any of those plastic pieces are usually blemished or worn and for the money it's worth it for new. UZ4PLAY 06-26-2008, 03:05 AM He's looking for the original center counsels...It's kinda lumpy plastic instead of the new smooth stuff.. I would like the lumpy hard style versus the smooth suede feeling one. I want to match my interior........... the later inserts have some sort of a coating on them. the look is less plastic like looking. i got it in my 93. but if it gets scratched then the coating will wear off. that's a big difference and i think tht is what the poster means with older style carspainc.com 06-27-2008, 11:46 PM It may be just me but I do not share the same feeling and I am in the east coast. it's not just you. the least one can do is return phonecalls and assure people that their time and funds are not ill invested. or don't do anything and upload a nice page about fishing to your webpage. either way, this fish is starting to smell:( TxGR8White 06-28-2008, 12:37 AM it's not just you. the least one can do is return phonecalls and assure people that their time and funds are not ill invested. or don't do anything and upload a nice page about fishing to your webpage. either way, this fish is starting to smell:( Flip-Flop, I guess all the supporters are jumping ship... 8eights 06-28-2008, 04:06 PM Not jumping, Being pushed is more like it, Accurate communication is all it would take, If you say you will ship within 2 months and ship by then, That's fine with me! But if you say 2 weeks and meant 2 months, That will make you look elsewhere for parts, He offers great parts with extra's sometimes attached, I would still support him and i know he doesn't need it, The product is exactly what he says it is no doubt, I'd just like the arrival date narrowed down more accurately. |
