Hi, been driving a e46 M3 for a while now, mostly on a track, and this past weekend I touched a wall after a sketchy encounter.

Anyway, my rear driver's side wheel is now bent inward from the bottom like this:

\_\-----|_|

I'm thinking i might have bent the axle? Or does anyone else have a better idea of what might've happened?

What's do you all think the damage might be on my wallet for this?

It's not my daily driver, so I don't want to bring it into a shop until i know im ready to pay for it.

Any help or guidance would be appreciated!
I'm in the San Diego, Ca area.

trailing arm ($600), upper and lower wishbone ($330), differential ($2200), output shaft ($400), and etc.... not all of them could be damaged and there could be more.

Differential? If it was bent in at the top, I'd be seriously worried. But when its bent in at the bottom, it's most likely the control arm (lower) that is bent up. Hopefully you have stock lower control arms on there, as they were designed to bend before other parts would. Rear trailing arm is one heck of a hard piece to bend, and if you did, there would be major toe (canter) issues.

First things first, jack it up and look for yourself. If the lower control arm is bent (almost 100% sure it will be), replace it for 54 bucks and a bit of time (PITA, but doable) and see where you stand. If its straight after that, go get an alignment and see what the specs come back as. You may not be in as bad shape as you might think. Best of luck and try not to hit that wall next time things get hairy! ;-)
