I've seached on the boards and seem to find different answers to offset info so it's hard to know for sure what's right. I somewhat understand the principal, but what i need is a real world answer.
Plain and simple my 1990 525i has a stock offset of 20mm. Some wheels i'm looking at are staggered, 20mm offset with a 1" lip for 18x8s and 25mm with a 2" lip for 18x9s. Will 25mm offset give me problems in the rear with stock suspension? If so, is there a way to use these safely, whether with hubcentric rings, upgrading suspension, etc.
Thanks for all the info i've found on this badass board and keep bimming!

You've checked here right? http://www.bmwe34.net/e34main/upgrade/wheels_upgrade.htm

25 in the rear should be fine.

Sweet, thx zubbie. 18's too much? I definately don't wanna go bigger. I love the euro sport look, can't wait to get more goodies. I'm excited!

17's or 18's look fine on these cars. It depends on your tastes (and road conditions). A few here run 19's but I personally think it looks to ghetto.

The other common upgrade is a suspension drop to remove the 4X4 fender gap on the front wheels. If you put bigger wheels on without the drop it will accentuate the gap even more.
