I cannot believe that someone would steal a 8 and then put it on ebay for sale, I hope this works out and someone (the thief) goes to jail.

Some of these things get rather bizarre.
When my old 740 was stolen it showed up again when I got a registered letter on a Saturday stating that if I didn't come up with $6000 for the repairs that I ordered it would be auctioned off on Tuesday under a Sheriffs lein by the repair shop that had it.
Insurance company had already paid it off so I call the insurance investigator and he pops right over to the shop that had it. Tow company that supposedly dropped it off had no record of ever towing it. The description that was given of the persons who authorized the repair didn't resemble either the wife or I.
The County Sheriff and the city police were waiting for it after the "Auction" and it ended up in impound as evidence. I didn't get all of the rest of the story but supposedly criminal action was under way when we were asked if we wanted it back after it was used as evidence.
The funny/strange part is that the person who bought it at the auction had all of the paperwork in hand to go to DMV and get a clear and technically legal title because there is no requirement to check if the car is on the Stolen list to get the Sheriffs title? That doesn't make too much sense to me:(
