2000 530d - Euro spec
did a search but didn't see a similar issue - bought it in early feb '08, battery died around the 8th, replaced battery. since that time, the check * light has come on repeatedly. mostly for fog lights. had local indie bmw shop look at check lights and replaced bulbs while cleaning ABS sensors (ABS was grabbing at low speeds). drove home friday and no problem with check * light. check license and fog lights are showing up again until this morning. got in car tonite to go home from work and on-board computer/nav monitor is blank. got radio, no problem - could change station - but no display. did US spec 5 series come with on-board nav/tv and if so is there a common problem? prev. owner said his nav would work occasionally but seemed to be failing but no issues with display not showing. sign of a bad chip, failing ecu/cpu (whatever bmw calls it)?? taking it to indie on thurs for new pads/rotors and wheel bearings and will have him look at electrical unless someone has a better idea.
as always, thanks in advance.
