jhovanny87 03-03-2008, 06:20 AM okay, so one of my bulbs went out and instead of buying another bulb i was thinking of buying an HID kit from ebay. if i get one of these kits, is it a true plug and play mod or is there any wire cutting involved or any other mod. i havent payed much attention to this subject but ive read that you might need a special connector or something idk. is it different for the fogs? i know i know i should use the search engine but i truly dont have much time to invest online. i just wanna get this righ and know what im gettin into. i would appreciate the help. oh, a diy link would help! thanks guys

Absolutely plug-and-play ... you connect the red wire with the other red wire, then the black wire with the other black wire. It's that simple. And yes, they kick ass. I freaking love my $73 HID's - makes my car look 10 years newer and the light it emits is 10 times brighter and better over stock bulbs.

NiTrOuSoXiDe 03-03-2008, 09:16 PM +1 on the Ebay kits. I've owned three different HID kits from Ebay and I swear by them. Absolutely fantastic. They usually have lifetime warranties too so if a bulb/ballast goes out, you pay them the shipping and they send you what you need.
$74 ebay hid's ftw. there all the same chinese parts. why pay more?
o and they also have a warranty, and i got a bad bulb with one kit they sent me a new one.

sadly it's really easy to "dissapear" on ebay and create a new account name. Granted, it wouldn't be wise to give up the power seller ratings, but you never know. Where will the ebay seller be 1 year from now? For me, $30 for peace of mind for an electronic part is not worth the risk. You know you'll get a timely response from any of the vendors on this board, and you know you'll have more means to interact with them in case something goes wrong.

When I wanted to upgrade my lights a few years back Elliptical projectors were $300-$500 dollars and an HID "kit" which was more accurately OEM parts(from a ??? source) tested out and sold together, were $500-$700. I can't believe ppl worry about 30-40 dollars between a 100% generic kit with shady warranty and a kit on Bf.C for $100-$275 including a solid warranty from a supporting vendor. Man up and and spend a few extra bucks on quality parts for your "Ultimate Driving Machine" ;)

Its actually $120 for the lifetime warranty, but good deal none the less.

Well if you're like me, and really don't plan on keeping your car for very long, the cheapo HID kit does me just dandy. :embarrasm
exactly, i cant keep a car more then a year or 2 anyways
