My friend who got the front plate ticket while driving said he had to get it fixed and signed off, but do I have to do that with a parking ticket? Can I just pay the 30 dollars?

yep parked, under all the usual parking violations that an officer would check, I have the option "other" checked, and the no front plate stuff written.

The ticket is in the form of an envelope, if that makes any difference.

Curl up in a ball and cry?

Although the Pay option described by Don sounds like the logical course of action... That damn Don and his rational thoughts...

Pay it. I have gotten no front plate ticket by both an officer when pulled over for speeding and parked at my dorm by the meter maid, it's an annoying ticket but im not putting a fuckin front plate.

my question isnt if I have to pay it or not lol, its if I have to get it signed off by a cop before paying. If I dont get it signed off, a friend of mine said it costs alot more..not sure though

If it says it is correctable or not, then you can sign it off or not.

I can only assume that it is a non-correctable ticket. Since it seems like it was given by a parking ticket person or whatever.

I believe that you are correct though, in the sense that you can pay more for a ticket, if you don't get it signed off first. Then again, you would have to have that option in the first place. People mainly do this for tint tickets, etc, where it is more tedious, time consuming, and more money to get it all redone.

Feh, I just got a ticket for not displaying a permit that I have. Lame. Totally forgot to put it up last night... $52 down the drain :(

I got one while I was parked too...I just paid it. The fine was less than if you are cited for no front plate while driving.

If it is your first time, you can have the fee reduced or waivered. If it isn't your first time, then too bad.

Do you mean if he was to pay for the ticket and not have the no front lic plate violation signed off?

Cause if it is a correctable offense, you normally only have to pay a $10 dollar fee/fine.

Who do I contact? I've had a couple of very bad experiences with UCI PD already :shifty
The parking/transportation department is different though, right?

I think it should say on the ticket, or have a website you can visit. I don't remember the exact steps, as it has been a long time since I have had to do something like that.

if the ticket is for no front plate, just zip tie it to the mesh grill and have a cop sign it off, then its only like 10$ and send in a check. then make sure you remove it asap bc i know that cant be good for the cooling system. i got meter maid-ed for no front plate/expired parking/ exp registration. had it all written off after i fixed them haha except parking :(

Some (most) places will require you to have it secured down onto the front bumper some how. IE screws, not zip ties.

Yeah, I mean just to pay the fine and have no further action required. Of course, knowing an officer who can help you would be helpful here.

I had a meter maid drop one on my windshield one day, I just paid it and didn't get anything signed off. I figured, $10 for new plates (didn't actually have the front one) plus $10 to have it signed off, plus time and effort to go to the dmv, then the chp/sherriff/police station, or pay the $27 to do nothing at all... I made the obvious decision.

i don't think you can just pay the fine... last time i got a fix-it ticket, i had to get the ticket signed of by an officer and then pay whatever the fine was

no need to zip tie ur plate, if u still had ur plate holder molding, just put that sucker on to get it ur ticket signed off. if u don't have the molding, maybe someone can lend u their molding for a day.
