I found out last fall that my ix had some rust over the rear spring perches. For this reason it did not pass inspection and I instead of fixing it I decided to go with a larger car for my 100lb pooch. I found a 535is to replace it with.

This would make a excellent parts car, or fix the rust if you want it as a driver.

TRANSFER CASE is good as I can't rotate front tires while front jacked up and rear on ground.

The GOOD
Notable upgrades, have about 8-10 k miles on them:
suspension:
DINAN iX specific Stage 1 Suspension (lowering springs with custom matched/valved bilsteins), this was a $950 package uninstalled
M3 Offset control arm bushings
Ground Control rear shock mounts
other:
DINAN ecu chip
Ireland Engineering high performance ignition wires

last 5-10k miles:
A/C: condenser, evaporator, expansion valve,receiver/dryer,interior switch(on/recirculate)*, have extra brand new receiver dryer I will throw in (in case you want to replace compressor)
Yokohama avid v4's
muffler

last 10-15k miles:
timing belt
o2 sensor

last 15k:
distributor, rotor, plugs, coil

last 40k or 7 years ago:
paint

the 88 came loaded with options (sport seats, etc..) only 2 that I'm aware of not having(ski pass and heated seats)

*Most of ac had been replaced 1 year ago and is cool but cold as it should be (esp. when stopped), was told that the compressor doesn't pull as well as it should and didn't bother getting a new one as it is good enough for me and had invested too much in everything else.

The BAD (that I'm aware of):
obviously the rust over rear springs (on sheetmetal around frame rails)
left front control arm (ball joint loose)
left front sway bar link broken
left front inner CV boot torn
left outer tie rod boot torn and the bolt rusted frozen
computer doesn't light up
emergency brake barely works as cables adjusted as far as possible
will be taking shift knob and front speakers with me
sony mini disc player doesn't work besides AUX in and radio

1500 obo (suspension alone is 950 or so)

yeah its driveable, been taking it around block every couple weeks. though at interstate speeds left banking turns result in ball joint wobble (see above under BAD). no current inspection though so drive it home at own risk.

Dave's car has been sold to restore and keep on the road. Admittedly, parts are hard to come by and more expensive(!) than their E30 brethren yet I am of the opinion that 'ixs are getting more scarce and should be restored and not parted out when able. This will be the case relative to Dave's car.
