I was born up in Wailuku on Maui and lived there when I was younger. I only get to visit now here and there. I'm gonna be getting married over there in about a month and half and I was wondering if anybody can recommend some good roads while I'm there?

Last time I was there I was wishing I had my E30 M3 to tear up Haleakala. Aside from Haleakala and the far overcrowded road to Hana, anybody have any recommendations? Anybody from Maui here?

Good roads? I assume you mean roads on which you can drive like a bat outa hell?

Omaopio can be fun, once you get past the dump. As you mentioned, the road to the crater, but be careful not run over any visitors on bikes as they are coming down!

Once you get past Hana, the road on backside as it leads up towards to the winery (upcountry) is interesting as well.

When you come down to it, there's not a lot of roads ideal for spirited driving. OTOH, where in the world are there roads where you and a Sebring can feel the spirit? :chix

When and where are you getting married?

We leave on the 18th and will be getting married on the 21st. I forget the name of the beach. It's gonna be really cool.

I'm borrowing a car from my family when I'm there, so no Sebring or Sunfires for me :-p.

I'd like to drive the crater road at night, with no one around. Clipping a few of those mountain bikers would not be good. Thanks for the recommendations. We'll see if I have anything fun to drive when I'm there... It's just not practical to ship my E30 over :-)

I'll be staying in and around Kihei. From the looks of your sig, that's pretty close to you. I'll try to get a hold of you when we're there.
