Luko840 02-29-2008, 04:37 PM Funny you should mention it. Mine does the same thing but I havent got round to investigating it yet. Too busy investigating all the other problems. NickF 02-29-2008, 04:41 PM Luko, your car sounds like mine! Keeps me off the streets anyway... cshiflett 02-29-2008, 04:48 PM Mine's in the shop at the moment as well... I think it's probably been 50 / 50 on number of days in the shop versus number of days I've driven it to work, but I am pretty picky about everything working 100%. Luko840 02-29-2008, 05:19 PM Luko, your car sounds like mine! Keeps me off the streets anyway... Every time I investigate a fault I find two or three new ones. larrystiver 03-01-2008, 03:32 PM can anybody tell why my air vent whistles at higher speeds unless i turn the fan on. Mine too. Tried cracking the sunroof, varying vent openings, Hot or cold...only thing that stops the whistling is having the fan on. I like air circulating in the car anyway so its a very minor annoyance that I never intend to investigate (meaning ripping out the dash). When my heater core goes...I'll still ignore it since I always drive with the fan on regardless. TerryY 03-01-2008, 09:19 PM Have you tried moving the temperature mix control on the vent to see if it changes? sama 03-01-2008, 09:49 PM something that fixed it for me, try to use a silicon lubricant on the rubbers of the air ducs between the door and car body, the ones that allow for the air from the aircon to the vents in the door. 840boy 03-02-2008, 12:12 PM I have had the same problem since I bought my car and it has never improved nor gotten worse. But now I'm having another issue that I just found. It is becoming warm enough to use the A/C now and when I change the temp, the passengers side does as it should, but in the mean time I have full heat coming out of the drivers side to begin with and then it will get colder within about a 5 minutes time period. This is something that has just developed in the last couple of months and it does not matter which vent setting/combination I use. It changes at the same rate. TxGR8White 03-02-2008, 12:39 PM Heater valve sticking. larrystiver 03-04-2008, 01:04 AM Have you tried moving the temperature mix control on the vent to see if it changes? No I haven't and thinking while typing...If I recall correctly it only happens when I have the temp mix dial turned towards hot. I don't think it happens when I have it dialed on cold. Perhaps that is why it does not bother me as much because in the summer its dialed cold, sunroof open and windows down. :cool I will check this out tomorrow...thanks Terry! Amen, Brother larrystiver 03-05-2008, 12:03 AM dialed to cold or hot with fan off and sunroof popped up or open...I get the whistling. Sunroof closed no sound. Still not a high priority, but thought I let pass this along. |
