Insurance is still a ripoff and they are all the same. Hopefully soon it will change but ive called like 5 different companies and they are all the same range in terms of price. :mad BealeAss 02-29-2008, 12:15 AM April 1st is the switch over. I actually discussed it w/ my insurance today, finally people in Mass can enjoy the same discounts and options for discounts as the rest of the civilized world. savage217 02-29-2008, 12:23 AM April 1st is the switch over. Although im sure they will still screw us somehow. :shifty leatherface3 02-29-2008, 12:25 AM :buttrock Finally. By switching to the new points system that other states already use, my insurance is uup $300/year. I added a new car last month (now insuring 3 cars for 2 people) and the rates nearly doubled. I brought it down to a roughly 30% increase only by dropping collision on the cheapest one. I never complained before. Our system was different, but it wasn't any cheaper as everyone seemed to expect. It was already worded such that the state mandated maximum premiums and insurance companies always had the option of charging less than that. They never did and it was naive to think they would. The changes just seem to have increased the potential for higher rates. -N dophineh 02-29-2008, 12:00 PM Florida tags FTW! Bolidoendiablad 02-29-2008, 02:20 PM I get such a good deal on my car, Im 17 and im only paying 100 bucks a month. Is that full cover? E36RJBMW 03-02-2008, 12:56 AM Is that full cover? No collision TopasBlau46 03-05-2008, 07:05 PM Insane .. my insurance company gave me 1700 (that breaks down to something like 150/month) for MINIMUM coverage with NO collision, for ANY car I was to drive, regaurdless of any characteristic. And I have a completely clean record .. m3fuz 03-05-2008, 08:36 PM Florida tags FTW! Careful with that. I moved here from Florida too, and my agent warned me that if the car was primarily used in MA, you had to be insured in MA, as there's quite a difference in perceived risk on the part of the insurers. With the discussion I had, I interpreted the agent's comments to mean that there was a very realistic possibility that a claim could be denied if something happened in MA. You have to remember that each state has its own insurance laws, and each insurer is incorporated in the state they do business. As such, it's reasonable to think that they will deny a claim. Be careful and good luck. |
