im going to be taking the headlights out of a junk x5 and need to know how to do it step by step.

main things i need to know are where to disconnect and where to cut wires, and where the ballasts are located and how to best get them out. and if there is anything else that i need specifically witht these headlights. its a 2000 maybe a 2001.

also. i will be retrofitting them into a z3 housing.

remove the trim under the light. it's just snapped in, but easier if you start in the middle by the grills. look and you'll see the tab you can push on to release, then gently pry and tug it out. then there's about 4 screws or so holding the light in. remove them and wiggle the headlamp assembly out. undo the connnectors and you're done.
