EDIT: csp ftmfw!! i honestly cannot wait for the first one of the year!!!
tsylatac 02-26-2008, 08:39 AM Yeah, I'm about ready for summer again.
m3fuz 02-26-2008, 09:10 AM I'm pretty ready for summer too. This is the longest stretch I can think of without playing golf and washing my car.
Although I hear from colleagues that this winter has been worse than winters past. True?
FredK 02-26-2008, 09:22 AM Eh, not really. Maybe it's colder than last winter, though?
Four winters ago sucked. There was a snowstorm that dumped 28" in Boston, and it never really got above freezing, so the snow stuck around for like 6 weeks. Friggin' impossible to park anywhere. The next winter wasn't that much better, as there was another storm that dumped a similar amount of snow on the ground, and there was a cold snap that brought the temperature down to around 0°F.
This was the winter that caused everyone to buy a snowblower. In a cruel twist of fate, the next winter, it barely snowed. In fact, I think that it was the warmest December on record. Clearly, Murphy's Law of snowblower purchasing kicked in: The year after buying a $800 snowblower, it won't snow.
I'd say this winter was right around average.
StealthBM 02-26-2008, 11:07 AM This winter is about average for the Northeast. Don't forget we need the snow to replenish the reservoirs and lakes. If not there will be water control in smaller towns.
FredK what's wrong with a monster truck bmw? :devillook
Hopefully we can make more good memories this year in 2008. I got a feeling it going to be bigger and better this time.
///M3Augy 02-26-2008, 11:24 AM Eric I think I will send you a pic of my flexing with no shirt on. Zomg I look terrible in that pic. :shifty

Unfortunately, you're right. Back in the golf boom, too many golf courses were built in America - and the demand has slowly been going to the wayside. Fortunately for myself, this is a primary concern for the public and lower-tier private facilities. The private facility(ies) that I am at are generally full of upper-echelon society who have the expendable funds that this sport/lifestyle almost requires anymore.
Worst case, I learn to speak symbols and go to China...that's where the current golf BOOM is.

:rofl2 Timing that damn heart fade with the song was the most difficult part about the entire thing.
And I'll be the first to admit that I DO have just that song on a CD and I DO play it when I'm going absolutely insane in the middle of one of my long road trips.
The Crew Cuts : Sh-boom ;)
I feel all warm and fucking fuzzy.

Itsablurr 02-26-2008, 01:40 PM I can picture the first meet there of the season....
Scene 1:
Setting: An unseasonably warm spring day, not a cloud in the sky, 12:26pm EST.
Eric is strolling across the grass by a cluster of E36s and E46s... the warmth of the early afternoon sun on his back. Dressed in a well loved baby blue t-shirt and old cargo shorts, he reaches down to grab a cold Miller Lite glistening with condensation.
*crack, pssssssh* The fizzling of the sweet beverage tickles his throat as Eric basks in the glory of the day. Ah, to be home again.
The smell of the grass fills his nostrils, reminding him of warm summer days gone past, the heartache of forbidden love, and the season full of promises that lie ahead.
As he slips his feet out from his leather thong sandals to feel the coolness of the grass between his toes, a silver glint in the sun catches the corner of his eye. He squints into the sun, and it is hard to make out at first. A line of cars, maybe five or six... as they approach closer, his heartbeat rises in anticipation. Could it be? The silver car pulls up onto the grass, and down to the other end of the vast rainbow of bmws, the pulsing of the exhaust resonating within Eric's heart. A stranger exits the car and calls out to Eric, his voice elated and quivering. They begin to run to each other with the jubilation of two black dudes who just found a lifetime supply of Popeye's fried chicken, cole slaw, and strawberry soda... a mad dash across the soft grassy expanse, arms stretched out, thirsting for the warm embrace.
As if in slow motion, they leap into each others arms, tears of joy erupting as passion overcomes them, promising each other that they will never leave and be apart ever again.
The velvety, bassy voice of ///Mitch3 calls out from up on the stone wall as he takes a drag off a Marlboro, "Fuckin' fags, get a room....".
ESMcBlurM3 02-26-2008, 01:45 PM :lol :lol
