I (thinK) I counted at least 5 different #2s...how are we to know which one applies to your situation? Some are for specific build dates (don't see that anywhere in your sig or post), some are for electric seats and/or heated seats (we have no way to know this unless you tell us).

You might want to repost with which part nbr you need so that if anyone has one...they can let you know and at least you'll have the correct one for your car. :)

I need the seat belt part that attaches to the seat with a cable and is bolted. The most important part of the assembly. It is free standing and is the part you actually press the seatbelt buckle into. Red button to release. It will no longer realease the buckle.

My car is a 92 525. I am sure the majority of 525's have the same piece.

Nice. Thanks!!
untill u find the replacement, i had the same problem, it turned out a small plastic piece was broken in the buckle..... push the red button HARD and try wiggling the belt so the plastic moves out of the buckle's way and the belt gets released. btw would a broken buckle trigger the srs light ?

Possibly...as I stated in post #2...there are more than one type of seat belt tensioner (item #2 in the diagram that can be seen at the link in post #1).

Your car's model year isn't listed in your car info or signature...but if you have a passenger side air bag...then yes, a broken belt tensioner may cause a problem since it is an intrigal part of the SRS (supplemental restraint system) in that it is tied to the occupancy sensor (#17 in diagram below) in the passenger seat. It detects if someone is in the seat and will deploy the air bag in the dash if the seat is occupied & the belt is buckled.

When the system is working correctly (SRS light is NOT illuminated)...if no one is in the pass seat...and you're involved in a frontal collision or accident...the pass airbag won't deploy.
