I have a 97 M3, the only reason you couldn't use it is because you already had software right? I just want to make sure this would work on my car. I'm about to install my m50 and cai so I am going to want one of these soon.

bimmer213: I assume it would be for stock, but it works with light mods IE: I have intake, exhaust ect...

Code 163 is bad user request. Which means the car was already upgraded and you tried to upgrade again. If you send it to us we can check the unit out and see if it can be reset. Keep in mind, we will see what the last function was (upgrade or restore,) what car it was used on last with the VIN. If last function was an upgrade it cannot be reset.
