View Full Version : Whhhhy must it...
dophineh 02-24-2008, 12:35 AM snow so much, I mean my DSC and ABS light came on, so they are both not working, plus I'm running summer tires. So I guess I'll just leave it parked. Which is a good idea considering it's tequila night.

GrimReefer 02-24-2008, 02:48 AM haha e38 FTMFW!
i am running summers on my M-Pars right now and it's possibly the worse thing i could have. I was completely sideways going down the road at least 6 times on my 4 mile trip to work. i really thought i was gonna wreck a couple of times. i almost crashed into the building at work because i couldn't turn or stop. i just kept sliding strait.
i vote you go out and enjoy the only time you can get an e38 sideways. :devillook and catch the experience on video of course

m3fuz 02-24-2008, 11:19 AM Where in Florida did you live? I moved here from Jacksonville, but grew up in Tampa and went to school in Gainesvillle. My M3 is on summer tires too & I miss driving it. :(

I graduated high school in naples. florida was nice, but I love boston more because it's so young, whereas florida is so old.
OhGeez 02-24-2008, 11:07 PM holy shit, that's a lot of snow.

wait till you have to start buying parts for them. you'll be wishing yourself back into an e36
dophineh 02-25-2008, 12:49 AM Winter sig material.
Truth.
I love that citgo sign pic, but all good things must change.
djmatty 02-25-2008, 02:31 AM Yeah, that's why I'm moving the hell away.
downeaster1 02-25-2008, 10:14 AM wait till you have to start buying parts for them. you'll be wishing yourself back into an e36
Yeah, that's what I've heard. I'm concentrating on my E36 right now, but when I get financially stable out of high school, I'm going E38.
SkaterD55 02-25-2008, 10:39 AM Where in Florida did you live? I moved here from Jacksonville, but grew up in Tampa
Tampa or the suburbs of Tampa? I grew up in Clearwater.
burn740i 02-25-2008, 10:56 AM wait till you have to start buying parts for them. you'll be wishing yourself back into an e36
That's really not completely true. If well kept, they're about as reliable as an E39 or E46, and the parts are in the same price range. If you exclude the price of the two MAF's I've installed since owning my 7, since they both failed due to mechanic error, I've only spent $90 on my car, for a Mobil 1 oil change; and $1.50 for a plate light bulb.

Not true.
Put a LSD in the 7 and it goes sideways really nice. Diffsonline has put a few in 7 series and one in a good friends car. I just need to find that donut video...

I love that Citgo pic too, but I have a soft spot for winter sigs :D
m3fuz 02-25-2008, 10:25 PM Tampa or the suburbs of Tampa? I grew up in Clearwater.
North Tampa - Dale Mabry & Bearss/Erlich if you're familiar with the area.
To be perfectly honest, it wasn't Tampa Proper, but Odessa.
How the hell did you end up here?
GrimReefer 02-25-2008, 11:14 PM more of the white stuff coming tomorrow. keep it on all fours fellas (and ladies (augy im lookin at you) :shifty)
SkaterD55 02-25-2008, 11:25 PM How the hell did you end up here?

dsc is for pansies and female drivers.... be a man learn how to use a clutch and drift that shit all over the place. (unless your an auto...in that case you suck as much as pennpenn) :buttrock
GrimReefer 02-25-2008, 11:39 PM e38 = no stick unless you drop $10K and get one installed and have no e38 for quite a while while the work is done. and thats only if you can actually find someone who has the skills to reprogram your car to know it has a manual tranny.

GrimReefer 02-25-2008, 11:55 PM oof.... you should get an E34 :alright :D
at that point i would just get an e39 ;) there's one thing though......it's no 7.

You've got that right
525iT_Feen 02-26-2008, 01:32 AM Check your wheel sensors. Common cause of failure in the e38/e39s. I need one too, but I hate ASC anyway so it being broken means nothing to me.

One thing about the e39 that I miss in the e38 is the ability to slam an e39.
