I need to replace my rear tires, up front i have 235/40/18 and in the rear i have 255/35/18. If i went to 255/30/18 in the rear would that help fix the slight rubbing problem? But is having a 30 in the rear and a 40 up front weird/wrong?

But is having a 30 in the rear and a 40 up front weird/wrong?Maybe and maybe. The 235/40-18 fronts are 25.4 inches in overall diameter, rear 255/35-18 are 25 inches in overall diameter. The front match for the rears should actually be 225/40-18. If you drop the rears to 255/30-18, your overall diameter will be 24 inches, which might fix any rubbing because the tire is shorter--unless the tires are too wide--then maybe not--but your speedometer will over-estimate your actual speed--and your rear end will sit lower than your front slightly. Other than those--no real big issues.
