8eights 02-21-2008, 06:44 PM 99% of us are asking questions to solve problems or share info, You don't own a 8! If your question pertained to your purchase or plans towards one, I could understand, Is it post count? or? Theres a TON of those type of questions that have been answered already, Search is good for those answers.

tread72 02-21-2008, 07:06 PM did take me a while to find mine, paid: its top secret but lets say very good price. It was very hard to find, I bought it from someone who took real good care of it. The car is priceless.
8eight...be nice after all we are one big happy family, I have asked my share of questions before I bought one, wuffer was very nice in showing me his and pointing me in the right direction to find one.
Animal, contact wuffer or ed, they are the once you must seek young jedi...lol
just make sure you don't fall in love with a girl that's too expensive for you :)
TxGR8White 02-21-2008, 07:45 PM Uhh, am I supposed to be? I just wanted to know.
...uh, YES! - as stated in the other thread, this is a give and take deal here (usually more giving than taking). If you really want to know the answers to these questions, because you have cash in hand and are ready to purchase an 8, that's a different story, but you don't even own a BMW. This forum is mostly for helping members out with technical issues and not some sort of Gallup Poll for meaningless questions.
Everyone here is pretty much happy with their 8's (otherwise they wouldn't be here..)
But just to satisfy your curiousity, here are my answers to your questions:
3 years
$7500 (put another $28,000 into it)
wasn't hard at all
yes. (My car is one of 16)...there now there should be no more "wondering" - GO OUT AND BUY ONE!!

Garaged and the "late night" triple-digit speed burst are well worth it!

Toy72 02-22-2008, 10:41 AM How long? almost a year
How much? a steal at $2000, dropped at least that much, and still counting, trying to get it to look like koizumi's.
Hard to find? not at all, was in an impound lot for at least a year behind where I work.
The driveway? Absolutely. That first night I just stared at it literally for about an hour (wife doesn't undestand). It was the fruition of lusting for one after 15 years.
The guy's here are really supportive, not like certain other forums where everyone is pretty cutthroat. Search past posts and you'll answer almost any question you might have.

First night? Hell ,I'm still staring at mine! Can't help it.....not really looking for a cure either!

Toy72 02-22-2008, 11:57 AM Not real deep, but i'm patient and save my money despite being married:rolleyes Inga is worth it, though. She isn't the best to lok at right now, but boy does she roll...

Bought it 4 months ago. Previous owner provided bills totaling $26K worth of improvements/maintenance, which if I wanted to impress myself, since I paid less, I could claim I got the car for free!! Easy to find an 8 series for sale on Ebay, Craig's list or Auto Trader. The prudent approach is to check it out in person with the knowledge of what to look for. Found a supercharged example locally for only $5K that was so neglected that it would take a fortune to restore. So far, doing my own maintenance, I have only spent $750 which involved turning my brake discs & new pads and new Magnaflows. I park it out in the street so everyone can appreciate its lines. It is as pretty as my 63 MBZ cabriolet, but from a different era.
Darrenbt 02-22-2008, 08:48 PM How long have you had your car? about 2 years
How much did you pay for it? 10500 landed from japan. Current total is about 21k:eyecrazy ( steering bits, brake bits, pumps, cooling bits, wheels/tires. Next stop, gaskets and more fuel lines, again...)
How hard was it to find one? super easy, too easy
And was it all worth it to see an 8 series sitting in your driveway? Made it from Edmonton, AB to Surrey, BC in 9 hrs (720miles) with three stops, loving every minute. Right about when your at 170km/h on cruise through the mountains even the fiance admitted that it was amazingly fun. While on the return trip she started at about 120, but when I woke up 2 hours later she was up to 160 on cruise and smiling....:buttrock
I was so proud...
How long have you had your car? Since July 07
How much did you pay for it? £8,000 (now more like £14k, and counting...)
How hard was it to find one? I went to hell and back to find it
And was it all worth it to see an 8 series sitting in your driveway? is the pope gay?
Just answering. :)
