Don't know if they are exactly the same parts, but the flywheel, clutch and pressure plate from one will bolt up to the other... the flywheel, clutch and pressure plate on my S50 B32 were originally on my US OBD1 3.2 motor (they only had about 1500 miles on them when the OPN failed).

OPN failed:rolleyes? you have death clutch after only 1500miles or i dont understand?

OPN = oil pump nut...usually ends up in a dead motor

I have a UUC lightweight flywheel and cermetallic clutch in my Euro 3.2. Any E36 M3 clutch and flywheel will work on US or Euro models (assuming you are using an E36 tranny).

When the previous owner upgraded to the 3.2 US bottom end, the person who put together the oil pump, pan etc. used only loctite to secure the Oil Pump Nut (OPN). After only 1500 miles of track use, the OPN failed and killed the motor. Since the clutch, flywheel and pressure plate only had 1500 miles on them, we pulled them off the 3.2 US motor and installed them on the S50 B32... they work perfectly, albeit a bit noisy (8.5lb flywheel + non-sprung hub clutch = major chatter at idle).

M50, M52, S50B30, S50B32 can interchange all these parts.

M50, M52, S50B30 engines came with essentially identical assemblies. The clutch and flywheel and disk in these cases weigh about 44 LB.

The S50B32 had a 4.5 LB reduction in weight compared to the above assembly. This flywheel doesn't chatter or make noise, but its not as dramatic a difference as a lighter assembly of course.

Alex.

Is lightmass flywheel can generate some problems for engine, tranny...? Where I can find some soundclip this tranny noise in car with lightmass f.?
