Has anyone been involved on an "inadvertent airbag deployment" while hitting a pothole?

Seeings how I don't have airbags no...... But I will share while working at a golf resort some years ago there was some concrete takin out to repave, your standard inch or so drop to some dirt then back up and I actually witnessed the airbag blow right up in the guys face. Then again it was a Buick or something....ok maybe it was more than an inch.

Such a scenario is unlikely, usually two of the three airbag sensors need to be triggered at the same time. Which means an impact of significant force and at angle within a predetermined range to the front. Perhaps if a sensor was triggered but didn't include a deployment, and that sensor was not replaced, that might bring the potential of a deployment, but there should have been a SRS light on because of the sensor.

I don't think the e30 M3 ever had an airbag...maybe I'm wrong though.

My apologies, although I also drive an E30, I am talking about my E46 (2005) I posted it on the wrong forum... but it happened to me on my 2005, I am dealing with BMW NA because my insurance says it was a malfunction BMW says it was an impact even thoug there is no sign of such.
