Where does one fine someone who can do the latter? :help TxGR8White 02-21-2008, 09:30 AM ..those are all tools of an Architect for example.. (ask me how I know...) any reprographic company should be able to print on thicker material - just be prepared to spend a little bit of money... rcrad6653 02-21-2008, 09:40 AM I very well may need these Tread. Since there were no 840 manuals imported here, an odd detail I've discovered is that when the reprogramming is done with a euro 6spd file it converts everything to Kph, and the UK files, although they use mph, reverse the data points because of RHD. It's a glitch that hasn't been over come yet to my knowledge. I think its hilarious and actually kinda cool. sama 02-21-2008, 09:50 AM I had my license taken away in France (only effective in france) for doing 130mph in a 130kph highway. guess what my excuse was?! :) TxGR8White 02-21-2008, 10:46 AM I very well may need these Tread. E-mail master mechanic Brett Anderson at koalamotorports, he has done the swap. Regards Rob The issue is not the physical parts as yes, thats exactly the trans (S6S 420G) from an M5 that's going in. It's the reprogramming of what the car sees and how it acts with different parts. The info I gave above is directly from a client of Brett's that did the 6spd conversion on his 840, along with two others. Brett may possibly be doing the electronics (we've spoken about it) unless I can find another avenue as he is, with all due respect for his knowledge and ability, extremely expensive. ...problem is finding a "private" fully functional MODIC...I am working on that as we speak Tx Auraraptor 02-22-2008, 04:26 AM I very well may need these Tread. Auraraptor 04-28-2008, 11:21 AM If they have the same cluster does that mean adjustments are made as per the 20 mph discrepancy from 840 to 850? Interesting. Care to ellaborate? My 840ci has the same cluster with 180mph max number and 200 max marking. 1chiban 04-28-2008, 03:39 PM well, Aura I believe you have a '97? The only guess I have is that '95 models and before had the 0-170 speedo. I'm thinking it should be a straight swap, though... TxGR8White 04-28-2008, 03:48 PM all US speedos have the 180 marking. The guages are an easy swap. Remove the cluster, undo the black plastic latch at the top (like a luggage clasp), swing the front of the cluster forward. You will see the backs of all the gauges (one fuel, speedo/tach, and water temp), on each side of those guages you will see a red or orange "latch", depress and pull the guage back. Reassembly is the reverse. Quite simple.... Auraraptor 04-28-2008, 03:52 PM well, Aura I believe you have a '97? The only guess I have is that '95 models and before had the 0-170 speedo. I'm thinking it should be a straight swap, though... Interesting! I never knew that! Thank you for making me aware of that. Please post a picture when/if you can. I would love to see what it appears like. If the spacing is the same (ie same change in speed per degree of the speedo) it just swap on without hassle. Did the just truncate the top speed, or is it the same length with wider spacing between the marked speeds? PS I am still very excited about the custom gauge set!
