I thought I had an alternator issue, but thats not the case.

When I start up the car, it will immediately die. If I start it again, and rev up the engine, it will stay running until I let the RPMs lower, then it just dies out again.

What are the most common problems that cause this? What is the first thing I should check?

vacuum lines

does anyone know about how many vacuum lines there are in the engine bay? I might as well replace them all. That wouldn't cost to much either.

Idle control valve would be my first stop on the "my car won't idle" train.

I got a haynes manual with my car, so I'll look in there and find where the idle control valve is, and check it.

Also, does anyone know how I can test my MAF?
