Hello- I have a 745Li and haven't driven it in 2 months, kept in garage. I tried to start it yesterday and it wouldn't. After it failed to start, the dash told me "parking brake default" then there were a few click sounds on the left front side?! I'm hoping it's just the battery but everything else is working? Has anyone encountered a similar problem? Thanks.

The same thing happen to me not long ago. Most likely your batt is dead. Just in case you don't know, there is a postive connector under the hood to the left side in the back close to the windshield.

In the future if you store your car even for a couple months, remove the battery so it doesn't drain itself.

Dont remove it whatever ya do, theres a small switch in the truck near the battery that you slide over if you will not use your car for more than 2 weeks.
Its above the fuses, in that compartment.
Check your manual its in there.

Thank you. It pays to read the owner's manual. These cars are so complitcated that it is good advice to thoroughly read the manual. Each new model has enough new features which differentiate it so much from the preceding model.
I have an '01, and it is so different from any other car I have owned, that even after two years of ownership, I am still finding new stuff. Thanks to Qsilver7 on this forum, I just learned of a trick with the light stalk where you turn the car off, then pull the light stalk towards you, and the lights will illuminate long enough for you to get the the front door and unlock it before they go off.
