1985 BMW 735i. Its got ~220k miles and I think it has an bad alternator. I'm going to get the alternator rebuilt for $35 anyways. It drive fine, and all the interior accessories work fine.

Do you think its worth driving daily? or should I just get rid of it?

I have lots of pictures, but i can't post the link beccause I'm a new member, so please go to Norfolks Craigslist and search "BMW powerhouse" lol, i know, i know.

That's a good price, when I bought my 735iL a few years back I spent $2500 on it with 189k miles. They are good cars if maintained right and will run almost forever.

Also, if you only spent $240, and can get the alternator fixed for $35, and you say everything else is good, heck yeah I'd drive it.

Looks like the inside and engine bay need some TLC, and maybe a paint job, and then a rebuilt alternator, and GOOD TO GO!

HI new to this forum. I own a 86 735i that i converted to a 5 speed, so i dealt with mant E23 issues. First, watch out for tranny issues, the 4HP22 has a problem that it would hang in a gear and blow internally(cant rememer exactly why) so see if you have a reman, you probably do. Look for a DOT R sticker on the bell housing. Second the E23 is a very solid car, many of these cars will go many miles with some regular maintance. The engine, M30, is super solid. As a daily driver i think it will be great.
