burn740i 02-20-2008, 07:43 AM He has it listed again... at the same price as before.
amd4me 02-20-2008, 08:01 AM That guy is delusional. His car is worth maybe half that.
LOL
dophineh 02-20-2008, 10:43 AM If you put a lot of mod money into a car, and want to get the money out of it. you have to part it out and then sell the close to stock car after you part out the mods.

Exactly, cars rarely appreciate in value with heavy mods like this. This car is never going to sell at this price.
greene08 02-20-2008, 12:35 PM Unless a moron buys it or someone with lots of money, no taste and a lazy attitude.
740ILMIKE 02-20-2008, 12:39 PM If I was forced to pick an E38 for that kind of cash, it would be Bimmerfixers 4.6 6 speed swap car over that one.
burn740i 02-20-2008, 12:48 PM If I were ever "forced" to spend that kind of money on an E38, it would be a mint '01 sport, in Anthracite, with OE M6 rims, and a Dinan S3 package.
dophineh 02-20-2008, 12:49 PM If i were forced to pick an e38 for those dollars, I would buy a 740il from 98 for 9k (did that part already), then put 36,000$ of my own steeze into it.
victoriabmw27 02-20-2008, 01:49 PM Ya that car is not worth it. dophineh is right though, you can never get the amount of money back from a vehicle that you put into it. He should just make the car stock again. And if i was spending so much money on a E38 i would def want a 6spd 750.
BlackWolf 02-20-2008, 03:51 PM looks like the vehicle is a Ron's aka Performing Imports?
for that type on money, it should have a 6spd conv, and a newer style S/C blower. Not to mention perhaps some Dyno numbers.
Either way good luck finding a buyer for that one..
AKABeast 02-20-2008, 04:49 PM Is there any chance it is really putting out 600hp? I'm thinking 450 maybe...
dophineh 02-20-2008, 05:07 PM Is there any chance it is really putting out 600hp? I'm thinking 450 maybe...
I think it's closer to 600
famous745 02-20-2008, 05:13 PM funny how there is a car seat in the back.
burn740i 02-20-2008, 05:23 PM Well I think that if he's going to make a claim like that he needs to be backing it up with some dyno numbers. It's never going to sell without them.
fermunky 02-20-2008, 06:13 PM Definitely a nice car, but a highly modded 95 will never sell for 45K... ever.
m5james 02-21-2008, 02:25 AM The thing sounds like ass too, listen to the YouTube video on the eBay ad. While the only reason I bought a 740iL over 740i or even a 540i is the legroom. Being I'm 6'4" and watching the video, he must be also since they're is as much legroom left in the rear as a Porsche 911.....useless. For the cost, he shouldn't have WAISTED the money to re-enforce the slushbox and should have swapped in the 6psd. It's highly unlikely he's gonna touch that reserve. I don't know what anyones dumped into the car, you don't get it back.....he won't either.
