View Full Version : Turbo install EstorilRoc3060 02-19-2008, 08:00 PM Anyone in here able to install a turbo or point to someone who can and maybe help me save some money too? Def 02-19-2008, 08:17 PM Just bolt it in - nothing too involved. Maybe a few hard bolts or whatnot, but it's pretty much a remove, replace and add a few things operation. I'm in the middle of putting a bigger turbo on my Nissan right now. EstorilRoc3060 02-19-2008, 08:22 PM Yea...I don't trust myself. QuestMCoupe 02-19-2008, 08:27 PM Contact Bmuu, he may be able to help. He's got a beast of an M3. EstorilRoc3060 02-19-2008, 08:32 PM I'm not for sure yet, I'm saving as much money as possible until the end of april to do something to my car. Hope to have 7k+ and if that's the case I might go TT stg 1 :) QuestMCoupe 02-19-2008, 08:33 PM I'm not for sure yet, I'm saving as much money as possible until the end of april to do something to my car. Hope to have 7k+ and if that's the case I might go TT stg 1 :) Dude, save a little more and get the Stage 2.:buttrock EstorilRoc3060 02-19-2008, 08:37 PM I would, but after April I start saving for when I graduate in June QuestMCoupe 02-19-2008, 09:03 PM Gotcha. I wanna here that Eisenmann in person sometime. EstorilRoc3060 02-19-2008, 09:13 PM No problem, just pm me and we'll set something up Def 02-19-2008, 09:16 PM I'm not trying to be negative, but I really wouldn't be looking to turbo an M3 if I was wary of just doing the install... There's nothing to say it won't be dead reliable, but the chance of "problems" is going to be much much higher. Labor costs would kill you if you ever ran into any issue. EstorilRoc3060 02-19-2008, 09:21 PM Buzz kill...:shifty I know what you mean tho, I'm just trying to do some searching and learning Montreal e36 02-19-2008, 11:40 PM supercharging is easier and completely reversible, ever thought of that? Tim95M3 02-20-2008, 12:02 AM turboing isn't reversible? EstorilRoc3060 02-20-2008, 12:04 AM I would go s/c but I'd want to go TS and that's WAY out of my price range. I dunno, the more I think about it the more I like the idea. I've got quite a few friends who have turbo'd cars, 1jz supra, WRX and an Evo. I'd kinda like to be able to hang with them, but who knows there's a lot that could happen between now and then so we'll see. BMuu 02-20-2008, 01:19 AM Buzz kill...:shifty I know what you mean tho, I'm just trying to do some searching and learning Haveing a turbo M3 can really be a load of problems, not all are nessicerally something that bad, but you should be able to do at least minor work on the car yourself IMHO. Installing the stage 1 turbo kit should be fairly straight forward and easy, the stage 2 is where it gets a little more complicated since you need to do a HG as well. What exactly is it you are needing help with? EstorilRoc3060 02-20-2008, 09:50 AM Help with the install for sure and what kind of things should I need to be able to work on? BMuu 02-20-2008, 10:23 AM Like I said, with a "kit" there should be a lot less problems and headaches, but there are still things that pop up sometimes and most local shops that don't charge really big $$ wont know anything about the car and will not be able to help you. I would suggest starting a thread in the FI section on here, there are many great members in there who can give you some advice. n3wbie 02-20-2008, 10:40 AM Haveing a turbo M3 can really be a load of problems, not all are nessicerally something that bad, but you should be able to do at least minor work on the car yourself IMHO. It's somewhere around 450whp on 18psi. Before I used to run 25psi with water/methanol injection. EstorilRoc3060 02-20-2008, 11:25 AM Would you be willing to help me install and maybe somewhat teach me in the process? No more though, I'm working 40 hours a week and going to school full time, I just don't have time to work on the car anymore so I can't afford to break anything. I actually was thinking about starting to part the car out. I haven't decided what to do yet. QuestMCoupe 02-20-2008, 07:24 PM A 60 punch with 255-40-17 bfg kdw2's would spin the tires pretty good.
