Driving home from work yesterday i come up the the light where 3 lanes turns into 2 about 1/2 mile down. Most of the time there are heavy footed people in the 3rd lane trying to get in front by the time the lane ends (me included depending on the day). There was little traffic so i decided what the hey. I pulled into the 3rd lane next to a 350z roadster and a colbalt ss. I was excited to see how my e34 would do against a 350z i didn't pay much mind to the colbalt as spoilers turn me off. A rev from the 350z secured it. Lights turn green and we are even tell the end of 1st where his 1st falls short about 5 mph before mine. I think he had a slushbox because there was no excitement from his shift. second i start to pull alittle more on him to about a 1.5 car lenght mostly because of my longer 1st. At this point we both back off and the colbalt which was 4 or 5 lengths behind flys by. Wishing it was a manual not a slushbox but i will take what i can get.

the vert 350z probably weighs as much as you bimmer. for some reason i dont respect the convertable 350z's. they are like 500 lbs heavier that the coupe. good run though

nevermind the general assy look of the 350z verts... the only way to make them look slightly more like a new eclipse....? chop the top, and murder the roofline. i swear vert 350 looks more similar in appearance to an eclipse than a 350z coupe.

auto vert 350z should be relatively easy prey for a 6spd

auto vert 350z is about as easy prey as a 6speed can come by that might try and play. I think they are pretty pathetic.

yea the 350's dont really do it for me. I still would like to know for sure if he just was to much of a chicken to shift hard or if it was an auto. Oh well i will meet another one sometime.
