Putting my M3 and 750iL up for sale...certain to regret it, but none the less.

1998 BMW M3 Sedan. Manual Transmission. Artic Silver on Black.
52,000 miles. Car was a one owner from Chicago. It currently has a prior salvage title - which is clear and registerable anywhere without any extra issue. I bought the car with motor damage. There was no body damage or proof of flood, fire, etc. The VINs match on all of the body panels. Body is excellent. There is one touched up scratch on the Passenger side Fender and Door and a very small ding (not very noticeable) on the front left corner of the hood. The interior is in EXCELLENT condition. No sag to the glove box. No rattles. No smells. Wear on driver seat is minimal. Black sport seats (stripes on back). Heated and power. Beautiful car.
I replaced the motor on the car with a used motor. At that time, I did a ton of service to the wearables, including the following: (all OEM parts)
Metal Impellar Water Pump and gasket
Thermostat
Aluminum Thermostat Housing and gasket
Coolant Hoses
Radiator
Expansion tank
All pulleys
Tensioners
Belts
Valve Cover gasket
Rear Main Seal
Vacuum hoses
Oil Pan Gasket
High Temp Red Loctite on the Oil Pump Nut
Exhaust manifold and down pipe gaskets and nuts
Intake Manifold Gaskets
Intake Control Valve (ICV)
Clutch Disc
Pressure Plate
Flywheel bolts
Throw Out bearing
Ball Pin, Spring Clip, Dowel, Pilot Bearing
Royal Purple MTL in tranny
Tranny Input Shaft Seal
Tranny selector rod shaft seal
Clutch Slave Cylinder
Clutch Delay Valve (CDV) Delete
UUC Stainless Steel Clutch Line
Spark Plugs
Completely Rebuilt shifter with the Pelican Parts list found here http://www.pelicanparts.com/bmw/catalog/shopcart/BE36/POR_BE36_Tshift_pg1.htm
UUC Black Tranny Mounts with TMEs
Painted block with POR15 High Temp Paint (Looks CLEAN)
New OEM floor mats
BBS RX 18x8 wheels

CAR RUNS AWESOME! Best operating M3 I have had out of 3...
Exhaust tips are shiny. Really, just a great M3. Despite the prior salvage distinction, I would say with a certain degree of certainty that it is a safer bet than 90% of the M3s out there.
VIN is WBSCD9323WEE08177

I also have the following available for the car:
LTW Carbon fiber Dash Trim (BMW Motorsports International)
LTW Exterior Door Badges (replace the M3 badges)
Dinan Front Strut Bar (with CF inserts)
Dinan Rear Strut Bar (with CF inserts)
Dinan Cold Air Intake (new style - not CF)
DME with Dinan Stage 2 Software
Dinan Springs (not installed)

I am asking $12,000 for the car completely stock. With the additions in red, I would like to get $13,000.

Now for a few pics...
I will get some more/better pics as soon as weather permits.

PM or Email me with any questions
Thanks,
Mike

Why are you putting this up for sale so soon after replacing the motor?
How many miles are on the chassis and tranny?

No OEM wheels available, sorry.

Shifting around the finances a little bit, so both of my BMWs are available.
52k on the car

Can you give more history of car and motor. You might want to have a dyno pulled since the motor is not original. Is that possible?

Car has 52K, how about motor. What happened to the original motor. Is any of it available with the car. Please answer here so all can see.

What was the motor out of?

not sure about a dyno aroound here but I coul probably arrange for a compression/leakdown test...

I still have the complete original motor. Not sure what is wrong with it. I havent had time to tear into it. I couldnt turn it over.

New motor came from a 97 M3 that had similar mileage. I will see if I can track down the VIN.

Any interest in a 4 Runner? I am asking $19,900 but that is negotiable. I'm guessing your answer will be no since you are reworking your finances but it is worth a shot.
