Fog lamps do you go through? I have my M3 for 8 months and I am on my third set. How do y'all feel about the aftermarket, black projector fog lights? My car is white. I think I would replace less with these.

i think they are tacky looking.

considering their price, im sure they are cheaply made as well. probably not that big of a deal though.

i bought lamin-x covers for my lights and they have been on the car for a while now. it really takes a lot to shatter the glass with the softer plastic covering.

Where did you get them? I have e-bayed the last two. I was thinking the non-OEM looked kind of cheap, I am just looking for a solution.

get what? the lamin-x? i got that from one of the vendors here.

i got my last foglight here in the classifieds area for $35 shipped. i bet lamin-x sheets come up there occasionally too.

the light broke when i hit a cone auto-crossing. i forgot to take the lights out before going.

Are the bulbs burning out or the lenses cracking?

Mine are still fine after two years (nearly) of ownership. But then again, I never use them. It's illegal anyways to use them when it's not foggy.

If it's your bulbs going out often, then maybe you should wear gloves when replacing the old ones with new ones. If you touch the bulbs, oils from your hands will create hot spots in the glass housing causing early failure. I hope this helps.

My Fog Lights are the original units that came on my car new in 1994. The bulbs have been replaced twice in 14 years.

I have never replace the ones on my 328 in the year i have owned it, but I replaced 3 foglights in my 325 in the couse of 1.5years.

i got a nice huge crack going left to right in the middle of my fog light lense but the other is still good :lol3

2 1/2 problem free years

Slightly OT.... But what kind of bulbs do the fogs use? And are they very easy to get to, I haven't even ducked under the car to look.

It's my lenses that get cracked, the bulbs are good, though I did change them out last time just because. I am going to try the lamin-x and see how that works. I will order the new lenses this weekend.
