anybody know a decent florist around the GaTech area? Ideally they would also be able to deliver tomorrow as well.

My last resort would be something like 1800Flowers, but im not really sure how they are.

A lot of those internet florists use local florists to do the work and deliver for them. I don't know if 1800flowers does or not.

In most places, you can throw a stick in any given direction, and hit a florist. Throw a dart at the yellow pages, and you'll likely land on a listing.

The hard part won't be finding one, but finding one who isn't booked to the gills with deliveries tomorrow.

You'll have to deliver them yourself, but Publix or Kroger can be good for last-second flowers. Just make sure the price tags are peeled off. :rofl

ProFlowers had some deal where you get 2 dozen for $39.95. Turns out there are delivery and other charges that takes it over $65.

Sam's Club 2 Dzn for $27 FTW!

Costco and Sam's are great places as well and the flowers last 10+ days. IIRC Costco has 2 dozen roses for $24 or something like that.

I got Anna some flowers from ProFlowers a couple of weeks ago and we just tossed them. Much better quality than the garbage found at Kroger/Costco, etc.

It depends on what you order. It will tell you in the description whether it is prepared locally or shipped via UPS. Certain special products are shipped direct.

Why someone would pay 2 or 4 times the normal amount for flowers just because of a holiday is beyond me. If you didn't get your woman used to receiving flowers on Valentine's Day then you wouldn't have this problem. I hate manufactured holidays that are only here to take more money out of my pockets in the name of "love". Because if you don't spend $$$ on your significant other/GF/Spouse, etc then according to society you suck at life. BAH!

I'm just glad Heather thinks like I do and that it's all a big waste of money.

Mrs. Tabasco specifically requested NO FLOWERS!!!!

She won't even let me take her out to dinner. She said..."Lets stay home and I will make you dinner!"

I still have not figured out what she means by that! Either way...it should be fun! :redspot

I've been pleased with ProFlowers when I used them in the past. One comment about them. You have to assemble the bouquet. They come in a box since they are shipped from the nursery. My wife didn't like the whole box thing, so if I use them again, I'll ship them to me, and fix the arrangement before giving it to her.

Today though, I went to costco and got a dozen pink roses for $14.

I didnt get her used to getting flowers for Vday. Last 5 Vday I have only given her flowers/roses once...and that was during the beginning. I figured this would be a nice surprise for her.

Maybe I should make it more of a surprise and have it delivered at a later date.

Just take them to her yourself. All the other chicks in he office who get stuff from random delivery people will think their guys half-arsed it, while you showed up in person. Your girl will be queen for a day, and you'll get "knighted" later. :naughty

That, or call the Stone Mtn. Barbershop Chorus guys, and see if they have any availabilities left. They'll take her a rose, a personalized card, and a quartet will sing her two songs for the same 50 bucks you'd spend on dead flowers.

I'd rather burn the $4 and make a pithy comment in person than buy a card.

One year for our anniversary, we realized neither one of us had bought a card. We went to the local hallmark and handed each other about 5 cards each. Didn't cost a dime. :buttrock

Let me speak from experience. 1-800 resulted in two of 3 poor quality deliveries. I have never used proflowers or FTD. I have been using Teleflora, which hires local florists to do the arrangements and then they hand deliver them. Far more personal than a FedEx package and gets more attention at the office if you're having them delivered to her work.

It is alway over 100 bones to send long stem roses to my wife at work. I have used a local guy for years, he has great roses. One year Vday fell on a Sat and I had already planned to go pull a m20 head from PnP. It was raining and she went and held the umbrella for me. You gotta love that.................
