I was wondering if there any performance package for it? I'm going to purchase the 08 X5 3.0si. Dinan doesn't seem to have anything for it. Thanks!

get the 4.8, you will be ahead of the game. BTW i am getting 17 / 18 mpg combined after 4k miles on mine.

2nded, if you want performance, just get the 4.8 and save the Dinan upgrades. Better yet, wait for the upcoming twin turbo V8 "M, but not badged an M" X5

mine is my daily driver / work vehicle. 4.8i with comfort access, sport package, premium sound. skip the third row seats and you will get a spare tire. skip all the electronic gizmo BS and you should be fine.

We just bought the X5 4.8si. My wife probably would have been just as happy with the 3.0, but it was not very exciting. When you start optioning the 3.0, the price discrepancy between the 4.8 and 3.0 drops. Leather costs extra on the 3.0, for example. The mileage penalty is minimal, too, because the 3.0 has to work so hard to move the heavy X5 -- a 1-2 mpg difference. The 4.8 is fun. Why spend thousands trying to get a little more performance out of the 3.0? If you insist, though, there are supercharger kits for the 3.0 for different cars that could probably be adapted -- Z4, 330, 530, from ESS, Vortech, and maybe AA.

A diesel is coming, but its 20% better mpg may be offset by 20% higher diesel prices. It would still have a torque advantage over even the 4.8, but you will have to pay a premium for the diesel engine option just like you do for the V8.

Our X5 is not even my daily driver -- it is my wife's daily driver. But since I will have to drive it regularly, I wanted the sport package and V8.
